I would go for the ECU if you already have some type of exhaust system. You should see more gains.

ECU

Espcially if you have a GXE model. It would remove the speed limiter as well as the gains would be increased.

I would also go for the ECU right now while you have the cash. I was slightly more impressed with the ECU mod than with the catback system on my Max.

Remember you have to run 92+ octane with the ECU mod.

JWT will also do an exchange with your ECU so you'll get the new one before you have to send your old one back.

I would get the ECU >>>>>>

make sure that it is the JWT ECU !!!!! I have a 95 SE auto and just by installing the JWT ECU by itself and no other mod it is really a eye opener. Make sure you always use high octane fuel !!!!! When I was totally stock from a dead stop I could not chirp the 225/55/16 tires that I have, just adding the ECU I was startled the first time I stomped on the gas my front wheels chirped and started spinning a little. In fact using my vericom performance computer I was able to measure a 10 fwhp gain with just the ECU about 15 hp at the crank. I then did a Homemade intake like the Stillen or JWT and that made very little gain that you do not notice it, infact I was only able to measure a 3 fwhp gain on that. The next biggest gainer in HP and the next mod you should do is the Y-pipe. I installed that and it increased the HP another 10-11 fwHP. These are the only 3 mods that I have in my car right now and the exhaust is still very quiet with the y-pipe since I have the stock exhaust. If you have any questions let me know and I will try to answer them the best I can. Good Luck !!!!!!!

Re: I would get the ECU >>>>>>

Julian: I just read you reply and cant believe that your car only chirps the tires. I have a 96SE Auto with the 225/55/16 withe the stock tires and I can spin them very easily. The only mods I hae are JWT intake and Stillen ctr pipe. I can even spin while driving slow, and whem Im going about 25/30 mph and floor it, the tires chirp when the car downshifts. You might have a problem-Jason
