Bomz cold air intake..... Good??
Hi boys, I just bid on a Bomz cold air intake for my car. Are these easy to install for the backyard dummy such as myself? Do they also give you a few more horses and better acceleration like the description says? And lastly, does it make any noise? Obnoxiously?
Thanks Boys

the only problems I had installing mine was drilling the hole for the filter part and you should probably get different hoses.. because the stock ones dont bend very well onto the intake
at reg. driving (<4000 rpm) I didnt notice much of sound change... but she sure does growl alot louder at full throddle.

yeh i bought one last wednsday, remember you need the drilling template to drill the hole. theres a couple of how to's. recommendation to change the airfilter with a K&n filter for better quality and airflow.

Thanks, from someone new to this.

If you are going to use the intake as a cold air intake this requires removing the battery / tray and drilling a 3+1/2inch hole next to it. When you drill this hole u dont really need the template.. just put everything on the intake together and 'guestimate' where the hole should be.. its not difficult. Check out this link..

if your not gonna use it as a cold air intake and just a short ram you will just hook the filter up to the mass airflow sensor and be done with it.. i suggest going all the way tho.. its not hard at all

um guestamating isn't the safest way to go. accurately locating the cuthole is critical to proper CAI fitment.
use this link, it shows you exactly how to install it. doin the CAI is better than the short ram in my opinion. CAI allows more colder air as short ram does not.

omg, theres been a huge debate about this. you really need to read the stickies.
of course more cold air comes in if yoou do the CAI cause the filter goes in the fenderwell as short ram, well just sits under the hood where all the hot air is.
people have complained that CAI somehow robs ur low end power so they went back to stock. throttle response and hp is minimaly affected. only sound improves. best way to get out of the CAI is get a high flow cat and a ypipe and other exhaust components.
