Socket size for stock 97 SE wheel lug nuts?

What size socket do I need to remove the lug nuts on stock 97 SE wheels? I need to do some brake work this weekend and shop that mounted my tires torqued the nuts too tight to get off with the stock wrench.

hey bro, this is not going to be much help but I was trying to tighten my lugnuts, had everything up to a 21mm- did not work. Like I said, not much help but i bet its a 22 though!

I really doubt its a 22mm. 22mm is the size of the bolt at the bottom of the strut. It's huge. I'm thinking its 19mm.

That's strange. I just pulled my '97 SE lugnuts off with a 21mm socket and it fit perfectly.

I never had to use a socket wrench so  I'm not sure
You should have a lug wrench in your car.

i believe it's 15\16... standard not metric

I have a 97 I30 and 97 SE and a 21mm fits lug nuts on both cars. I am certain as I rotated tires today!

throw a big a$$ bar on the end of the stock wrench, and im sure itll come off

Everything on a Nissan is going to be metric. Its from Japan, remember?

Nissan uses lug nuts that take a 21mm socket on all their passenger cars.

15/16" = 23.8mm (1'=25.4mm) Using that socket will eventually round off the corners of your lug nuts. Getting a 21mm socket is worth the investment.

21mm it is. Thanks for the info guys!
