Anyone got 19's with sprint springs & tokico blues??
 

I just got some 19" TSW Rib rims and put them on with some tokico blues, and progress springs. I am about ready to ditch the progress springs after about 40 miles. With the 19's it looks 4 x 4. I want to see what the sprints look like with 19's. If you don't have newer aftermarket shocks, please don't send pics as blown or worn shocks will obviously give a more dropped look. Thanks for the help!

Shocks/struts do not affect the ride height of the car... at all.

So what you are saying is that a brand new set of tokico blues won't put less stress on a set of springs than a set of stock blown struts?!? When I took of the stock struts, I could compress the piston rod, with the blues, I could barely move it.... You can't convince me that struts have nothing "AT ALL". At least the blues help the springs in supporting the car... The stock struts did nothing...

Trust me, the weight of your car has no problem pushing the piston down compared to your wimpy arm.

But, if I can't convince you, I can't. Measure the ride height yourself before and after.

The ride must suck with 19's and Tokico's. It did with my 18's big time.

I understand what you are saying totally... But do you think that a strut without any gas or fluid at all will give a lot less support to the vehicle?!?

I guess back to my original question, has anyone cut progress springs, or is it back to Ground Controls for me?

As far as I understand, shocks don't "support" the weight of the car, they just dampen the spring isolations......the whole weight of the car is sitting on your springs, that's why changing shocks will not change the ride height

Ok I didn't mean to have to argue with a bunch of people. Nobody is understanding what I am saying. Ok....imagine this...... you have 2 springs holding something up by themselves...... That's it.... Now add two blown struts to that.... Nothing will change.....But if you add a good, strong strut to the spring, they will work together to help support the weight of car. I am not saying AT ALL the strut holds up the car, I am saying that the strut ALONG with the spring will raise the car up more than just a spring alone.... Anybody got my drift, or am I in a different world.... If I am, it isn't the first time...or the last time for that matter.

I get what you're saying, but unfortunately, i think you're wrong :D.. i think it's more like everybody else has said, that the struts basically are there to dampen the springs, they make such a nonfactor in holding up the car, that the only thing you would notice with blown stuts is a worse ride, due to less spring dampening, not any different height.. who knows though..
