+40 offset ???? Buying rims today!!!!

What offset is recommended for lowering? will a +40 offset work on 225/40 18 and a progress drop?

bb0ys 05-04-2003 11:57 AM

40 offset is perfect. yes that will work. what kind of wheels are you getting?

krbga 05-04-2003 09:12 PM

40mm is ok. But get 235s...I made the mistake of getting 225/40 18s on my first set of aftermarket rims and dented them up 3 days later on just regular streets.
18x7 & 18X7.5 235s or 18X8 235s or 245s. They will fit with no problems.

definitley go with 235's

Nismo 05-05-2003 01:30 AM

yep, 235s. I wish I had 40 offset

I'm getting some Velox VX-5's from wheelmax.com

http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/velox/velox.htm

they are 19s with an offset of +40. what tire size out of the ones given should i go with? the roads here suck VERY bad, but i still want 19s.

the tire sizes are:
225/35/19 235/35/19 215/35/19

thanks, enjoi

I'm buying a set of chrome Limited Alloy Wheels model 704 for dirt cheap from a friend. They aren't exactly what I wanted, but they will save me alot of money and my car is an auto so they won't hurt my performance to much. My zex kit is going on as soon as my intake arrives.

desertmaxima 05-05-2003 09:42 PM

Oh No not the ZEX kit. I am not a big fan of it due to the fact my buddy basically detonated his BMW using a ZEX kit and foloowing all the instructions. You should go with the NOS kit thas just my opinion

what about 18x8.5 with +35mm offset??

enjoi 05-06-2003 04:54 PM

235/35/19 i believe is good... since the rim is 19x7.5
