Non-bose Stock headunit problem.........please tell me it's just a fuse.......

So i'm driving to work this morning, and i've got my lights on and the radio playing, and i look down at the display, and it's blank. So i'm figuring that the headunit's display just took a crap on me, when i get the idea to try turning off my lights, and see if that changes anything. Well, sure enough, the display comes back. I try it with just my parking lights, with and without fogs on, and no matter what, as soon as my lights come on, the display goes off.

Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? And if it is a fuse, what should i look for?

BTW: I have the Non-Bose Double-Din CD/Tape player combo that looks exactly like a bose Headunit, but isn't.

Thanks

check the variable knob used to brighten/dim the dash lights. make sure it is fully turned clockwise and clicks in the last position.

lol don't feel bad. Usually responses like mine are because of similar experience =)
Before I bought my car, i was test driving it with my mom and i said "oh no the stereo display is bad" and she leaned over and turned the dial lol
