Trying to fit FTSB!!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, i just got my FTSB from ebay.... I sort of have a problem. On the passenger side the adapter of the strut bar, it hits a metal tube line thingamagger from the engine. Is it supposed to be this way? For people w/this problem, what did you guys do to fix it? Do you guys know what i mean? Are there different strut bars for different models?

Any help would do....

Thanks

if it's the metal tube on the left side of the engine compartment, that is a A/C condensor/coolant line, you can try to adjust the bracket that holds this pipe and lower it, right now i have my FSTB resting on that pipe(wrapped in electrical tape). It hasn't cause me any problems...but few have had problems...

The fstb should be bent in a way that makes an arch so that it does not touch anything, engine or hood. Because its an eBay fstb it might not be fitted properly for the Maxima.

What type did you buy? I've been lookin at some Maxima stuff on eBay and its all generic looking. The FSTB and the CAI and most of the other mods don't have real manufacturers associated to them... so quality is suspect. Let me know how your FSTB holds up and how it performs. Thanks

I had the same problem a few days ago, my fix, a hammer and 20 secs. smash the braket down some and the bar will fit fine! or you can pop it off with a screwdriver.

I've had mine on for about a half a year with my bar hitting the a/c coolant line, so far there has been no problems.

i have BOMz racing FSTB from eBay about 1 year ago, the bar fits perfectly over the A/C condensor/coolant line. jus give it a little twist here and there until it fit.

I had the exact same questions a month ago when I put mine on. I used a hose clamp thing to pull the AC pipe more towards the middle of the car. Pics at http://members.cardomain.com/gmt_max.

Another thing to watch out for that some people have had problems with is a little black piece of piping basically at the middle of the engine bay, that the bar kind of sits on (not all years have this problem apparently; I do and I have a 99). I don't remember what this hose is for (and have no pics), but take a look and you'll see what I mean easy if it's there. I seem to remember people saying they had stalling problems if it wore through, though.
