200,000 miles and counting....who's there with me???

This past memorial day weekend shot my 95 maxima into the 200,000 mile classification.. who else is up here????

cam_honestiam May 29, 2003 10:21 AM

Not me, but that is excellent. Have you replaced any major component (e.g., tranny, engine, radiator, etc.)?

97blackSE May 29, 2003 10:30 AM

 Way to GO!

mzmtg May 29, 2003 10:41 AM

Damn, I'm still a year away from that. 168,000 :(

MacGyver265 May 29, 2003 11:38 AM

I think its funny how peple are upset their Maximas haven't hit 200k yet.

H.N.I.C.95 May 29, 2003 11:55 AM

:woot: give me a year 169,000

Miasma May 29, 2003 11:57 AM

lets see...
200kmi*8years/90kmi-8years=nearly 10 years to go until i hit 200,000 ;)

Mmmaxx May 29, 2003 12:59 PM

At my average 10K a year im looking at like 15 more years before I hit 200k. I like that though, good to know its still kickin :).

" give me a year 169,000" jesus you put 30K a year on your car?

mzmtg May 29, 2003 01:16 PM

I've driven at least 25k a year for the last 3 years...

optimus310 May 29, 2003 01:16 PM

Thats awesome. I hope my max gets there some day.

MaxedOutOfCash May 29, 2003 01:19 PM

Not Bad :)))
Well, 1996 SE just hit over 236,000 and running great i do need a new steering wheel though :))) and I also have a 98 SE but takin' it easy on that one only 103,000......Yeah I drive a lot :)))

Flava_24/7 May 29, 2003 01:21 PM

Not there yet, but close....195,000. No major problems just the norm. replaced alt. starter and clutch a while back.

Nismo3112 May 29, 2003 01:39 PM

I'll be there in exactly 159,940 miles:)

cook87 May 29, 2003 01:41 PM

i got 186,000 on my 95 se...replaced the starter a few years back..but no other real issues.... still runs great....

hokiemax May 29, 2003 02:21 PM

I just passed 140k. I put over 30k a year so I'm on pace to reach 200k in 2 years!

eaglclon May 29, 2003 02:28 PM

I just hit 177k in my 97. just 23k more to go. I think I can sqeeze another 100k out of it.

DanIAm May 29, 2003 03:55 PM

and i thought 125 was a lot lol...hope mine stays runnin past 200 though but i've already had to put another tranny and clutch in, well worth it though, no other car i rather be drivin everyday :)

MaxKlinger May 29, 2003 04:14 PM

I'm not too far off at 165,000+. The reliability and longevity of the Maxima are often overlooked, as so many poeple are always looking at performance and aesthetics...this is yet another area where Nissan has so many other autobuilders licked. 200,000 miles for a well maintained Maxima isn't shocking at all...I won't be surprised if we see quite a handful in the 300,000 mile range in a few years.

Isn't it scary...the VQ will be a decade old when the 05's come out next year. It'll probably be one of Ward's top ten engines ten years in a row...

happyricefob May 29, 2003 04:39 PM

i got my max last year feburary, the previous maxima owner only had a little bit less than 70,000 mi... so far i only have 85,215mi on it :D i guess i have a very low milage on a 95...

izzydig May 29, 2003 05:27 PM

215,000+ here. No major work yet. Knock sensor, CV shaft, radiator ($380 parts) + Me as labor. Will have to do front struts and wheel bearings sooner or later ($200).

Oops, and the timing tensioner....$70.

SuperChris May 29, 2003 06:05 PM

On my 99SE-L: 133,105 as of RIGHT NOW! About 100k in the last 2-1/2 years. Not counting brakes (rotors twice, pads several times), the only major problem has been EGR failure...and the elohssa who parks next to me in the garage and butchers my passanger door!!!

BTW -- she still likes to get up to 100 when fools try to test!

pruizgarcia May 29, 2003 06:25 PM

Awesome. It is good to hear that our Maximas are a breed apart.

Pedro

99maxse5-speed May 29, 2003 06:36 PM

Yeah I love my car. I'm hoping to get 300,000 out of it. The stylistics of the car are still modern and not dated. I've changed the starter and clutch, otherwise nothing else. Oh almost forgot I had to change my shocks, struts, and y pipe cause they were really worn out and damaged ( THATS WHAT I TOLD MY WIFE).

hey superchris tell me more about the EGR failure. I had a check engine light and the egr came up but then the light went away so I didn't do anything about it.

Well the dreaded Service Engine Soon light came on this past Feb., during all the snow...my mileage sucked (20-21mpg) and she was runnin' like a diesel, so I knew it was something bad. I'm :o to say, but I had the dealer ( ) fix it...ran around $500 or so.

Maxima95Tuner May 29, 2003 09:01 PM

Just curious guys but... do you still drive your cars hard with over 160k on them? I would think you would want to keep them running for a while, so you would cool down a little bit.

Ninos_Maxima May 29, 2003 09:05 PM

Im planning on keeping my Maxima untill its an Antique, I only have 48k on it right now

max95q May 29, 2003 09:44 PM

Wow you guys really drive yalls cars alot I just hit 170,000 today in my 1988 Max. Thats right 2nd gen :D Shes still runnin strong too:)

meccanoble May 29, 2003 11:34 PM

i got 135,000 miles on my 97. I put about 15,000 miles max a year so i got a few years before i hit 200,000 :(

cmac has over 200,000 and he drives his car all the time like a race car i think, but it looks and runs great, engine doesnt show any signs of aging except the dirt :)

philthismax May 29, 2003 11:48 PM

Damm, I just hit 61K, I got a longway to go.

blizz20oma May 30, 2003 06:39 AM

Y'all can load up some miles (saying that, I can remember the days of putting 25-30k a year on a car, but that was high school :) ). I thought my recent 100k mark was something for the beast. As long as I keep surprising people when I tell them that no, it's not actually just a year or two old...

I wanna see if any of you guys can top the 89 accord that comes into a old friend's dads shop regularly. Last I knew almost two years ago, it had 527k on it, on the original engine and tranny.

njmaxseltd May 30, 2003 07:12 AM

Can I consider my car still a virgin :naughty: with only 62K on it?

95seMax May 30, 2003 10:28 AM

give me 2 more months, with 120k on my max now , ill have 200k in no time with all the driving i do

Pappa Grande May 30, 2003 10:52 AM

Yup, I'm part of the 200k club with 203,xxx as of today...I think I may have to replace my stock CV joints soon...

ny96max May 30, 2003 08:02 PM

Ant

RapidMax May 30, 2003 08:48 PM

Well I'm at 36k right now so figure averaging my 10k a year I'll be there in about 14 years.
