Power door lock issue

Search is down so I had to post. I'm having a problem with my power door locks. I walk up to the car, hit the unlock button on the remote and as soon as it unlocks the doors it locks them right back. I thought it was a remote control problem so I sat in the car and started it. I go to unlock the door using the unlock switch on my drivers side panel and it locks back up right away again. This happens like three or four times straight before it will finally unlock and stay unlocked. Anyone else had/have this problem? Any suggestions on what's wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.

I've had that problem. From what I recall I can attribute to two things.

Occurance 1 : It was about 95 degrees in MN and the max wasn't used to it. (I also had a friend in car - see occurance 2)

Occurance 2 : A friend tried to open the door at the same time I was unlocking the car.

Based on this, I think it has something to do with people opening the door when you are locking or unlocking it.

Was someone with you?? If there was, I bet they were the "problem"

Nope. Happens when I'm alone also.

do you have an aftermarket alarm or remote start hooked up to your car?? are you using aftermarket key fobs or the nissan key fobs??

I have the same problem, except that only the 2 driver side doors lock back up. I reprogrammed the remote but it didn't help. One day when I ran to a store I took the spare set of keys with no remote; when got out of the store and unlocked the driver door using just the plain old key the same thing happened. The remote wasn't anywhere near, so now I know replacing it won't do a thing.
I have no idea what to do.

If one of your door locks is binding up, it wount fully unlock correctly and the control module will relock the doors. You can duplicate this condition by simply holding one of your lock tabs while you press the button. The doors will unlock, then immediately lock again.

See if you can determine which door has the sticky lock and lube it up. You might have to pull the door pannels off to get inside to see if something is binging on the lock linkage.

That's a very useful piece of advice, Tom.
Thanks, man!

I know its the drivers side locking up. I'm gonna try that.

I have not had this problem with my Max but I had it with an '87 Toyota Celica with power locks. I could be inside traveling down the road with the doors locked or unlocked and the locks would lock and unlock, back and forth, for maybe 2 or 3 times and then quit doing it. I never did get it fixed but I always kept my keys with me because it would sometimes lock on it's own when it was parked.

I don't think a stuck mechanical part would explain what is happening. I think there must be a shorted wire somewhere although I never did get the problem solved with the Celica.

Please let us know how you fixed the problem.
