what's the difference between 95-96 & 97-99 rearend?
 

I know everybody and their brother knows this but me, but i have to ask anyway.
What exactly is the difference in the styles of the rearend of the 95-96 vs. the 97-99's? i know guys talk about "shaving" the trunk.. what is that and how do you do it??
basicly i want to know all this b/c i'm looking at a 96 and i want to put in the carbon fiber tail lights.. only avaliable for 97s and up. so what do i have to do to upgrade to the 97 rearend and how much $ and i looking at to do it?? i see the difference in the front but not the rear, other than the color of the lights.. but that said i have never had the 2 models side by side to look at either.

the 95-96 rear end has a body line in the lower lights and trunk. the lights are also shaped different and the colors are flipped.

you can do a conversion, it's costs some money,you need a new trunk and rear bumper I think, not to sure tho.

The tailights are slightly different...they appear farther back in to the decklid, and have reverse lights/turn signals on the bottom rather than top...im sure theres more but thats what I know for sure

anybody got experience converting?? what's it involve?? i don't think i want to get the bumper b.c my intentions are to put a kit on anyway...
