Sprint And Kyb Gr2's, Any Good??

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THROWING THIS SET UP ON MY CAR SOON BECAUSE MY FRONT SHOCKS ARE TOAST. IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME AN OPINION ON THIS SET UP I WILL VERY MUCH APPRECIATE IT. THANKS:confused:

I personally wouldnt want to use GR2's on the front end with sprints...they are not designed for such a large drop. I would use GR2's with H&Rs. If you are gonna go sprint, go with AGX or tokiko (sp?) illuminas.

what are you using or what did you use for your suspension???????????

I'm using GR2's with my Sprints and haven't come across any problems. In fact, other than it being lower and scraping on some speed bumps, it rides about as rough as it did when I got it. Now handling is another story. You'll appreciate those winding roads a hell of a lot more.

i'm about to go for tat setup soon. steve can hook us up with sprint lowerin springs $150 shipped from redlinemax.com. and hopefully there will be another GR2 GD comin up for cheaper price, but u can always pick up a set of GR2 at www.shox.com for $250 shipped.

GR2 settings are 2 in the front, 4 in the back. which is about 15% firmer than stock shocks. (donno if it's based on SE shocks or GLE/GXE shock, some please confirm.) to me it's a great combo with handling improvement, showy drop, and reasonable price.

IMO, maxima has huge wheel gap compares to other sedans (i.e. camry, accord.) hell, i have 1 foot wheel gap on my stock GXE. yes, i can stick my foot into my front wheel gap without any problem. so yea defintely lookin for a decent drop.

in addition, u can still observe some wheel gap with maxspeed, H&R, progress, eibach, etc. some members even cut those springs to reduce its wheel gap. sprint won't have too much problem with tat.

thanks guys, i still would like to know why KINGRUKUS thinks this setup is wack. i dont know what set up he has but would like to know.

kingrukus Aug 5, 2003 04:14 AM

Well from the research I have done (I have stock setup, I am gonna be dropping the car very soon), I hear that the GR2's are not a good match with sprints...the drop is too harsh for those specific shocks to match.
