Did Anyone Remove Their Carpet When Installing SFC's?
 

My mechanic recommended I take out my carpet when he welds on the SFC's, because I guess saw someone's old Firebird go up in smoke because the undercarrige got too hot and the carpet smoldered.

Anyone have any input?

Warpspeed installed mine without removing the carpet. I think you should be alright leaving it in. I haven't heard of anyone catching on fire during install.
