my converter is going out, and i dont have the money right now to replace it. i dont have a smog for two years, and i was wondering if i put a straight pipe in, what kinds of things would happen as a result of the oxygen sensor that is behind it? would it be bad for my engine, or would it just cause my check engine light to come on, or what do you think?

I have a straight pipe. It seems fine....every few weeks I get a "3-way Catalyst" code, but I just clear it and it's fine for the next few weeks.

so you dont notice any engine problems? how long have you had it? what did you do with the oxygen sensor? did you just put a hole in the pipe or what?

also, how do you clear the codes? or do you have an OBD II reader?

sorry for all the questions, im just really contemplating what to do.

i have straight pipe and y pipe, no problems, no check engine light, no smell, maybe cause i keep my max a little 2 cleannn
