Weapon R Dragon Intake

I've been lookin' at the Weapon R Dragon intakes. I am just curious, do i have to cut a hole in my wheel-well for it? or is it like the injen where it stays in the engine bay. Any info?

almost all cold air intakes need a hole in the fender, injen is more of a hybrid intake...you got a link for this "dragon" intake?

all the intakes in there are for other cars... 240zx, sentra, etc...i dont even SEE one for the maxima
*edit* i dunno why it was under the nissan section, but i searched and found it, looks more like a midpipe and cone filter, not a CAI

yea the weapon r dragon kit is just a a cone and pipe fits right in yur engine bay, custommaxima.com may still may sell them, the one that fits.

and the Ramair kit and coldair shield are extra's and can be found here
http://www.weapon-r.com/ramair.html,,

The weapon r dragon kit , its self is not a CAI.

Isnt the filter on the dragon intake made of foam? Foam doesnt seem very durable to me. Seems like in time it would get old and and start to crumble.

in some old forum (searched, but couldnt find it) tested a foam filter, apexi (cone type), k&n, by sucking air with particles through the filter, and seeing how much came through into a white cloth. foam filter was passing amazing ammounts of junk and small stuff into what WOULD be your engine. thats gonna build up in your intake, valves etc. if you have a foam filter, clean your throttle body a lot... and think about changing it!

worth it in the long run? good boost of power?... i would want all the ram air attachments (good cold air, but less likely to get water in there like a low sitting filter) but seems like a lot to buy

tzmanles , he said to look at the way it sits, i figured that it didn't sit right. I dunno . I just want an air intake to give me power, withoput problems. I was looking into the Injens when i saw this site so i did some searching and there were some sites that were swearing by this intake. Everyone has their opinion. I just wanted to know if anybody on the .org had it, and how well is was working for them

It sit fine for me. I didnt even take out the bottom part of the stock airbox. It sounded and looked great. I would recommend this mod in a heartbeat. The reason why I dont have it now is cuz my car was stolen and stripped.

yea foam filter is a bad idea for long term... i was thinking of franken car or injen. or maybe a cheap pop charger (for good high end) and run some ducting for cold air (for good low end) hmmm

Foam can be a bad thing....but a good thing too....

I have a Weapon R Dragon Filter with a midpipe, and I haven't had any problems with the foam breaking down, and I believe that I won't either as long as I maintain the filter with the proper oil, and the filter elements aren't that expensive to replace (20 dollars I believe). I'm looking into the ram air kit and the cold air shield, and if I get these add ons, I'll probably remove the midpipe and go back to the stock resonator (hate to part with the awesome sounding midpipe, but I want my low end back!) because I don't think I'll be able to get the cold air shield and ram air to fit without removing the midpipe. It's in there snug as it is. I want to see a link to the website (or forum) that states that the specific WR Dragon filter breaks down over time with proper matenence. I'd believe it if the filter wasn't maintained, but IDK. Link please?h

foam filters in general pass more impurities, more small particles can pass through. also with a cold air filter mounted in a a fender well... foam filter getting hit by rocks and gravel would get chewed up faster and worse than a cone filter
