jeez our cars are getting old.
I'm seeing a lotta tune-up threads and the people who post them have usually around 90000, so these are all major tune-ups and stuff. And usually old cars need the "90000 mi. tune-up" and 95's are almost 9 yrs old. I guess Kia's and Hyundai's warranties don't last forever.

haha...i got 145k or something like that on mine and it's still running good...i'm not hating...i'm just stating facts. I'm not saying it's gonna break down...i'm just saying...like sxn said, "it's finely aged" haha

Bro a '97-'99 proper hooked up with Red/Clears, D.C. Corners, Stillen Polyurethane B.Kit, Nice Rims, Nice Drop, Nice Color (White, Black, Silver, Beige), with a nice set of rims looks a hell of a lot better and newer than most hooked up cars on the road. Maybe I'm biast but even before I owned a Max I always thought that the 4th Gens were gorgeous. The only other cars that I wound categorize as gorgeous other than the '97-'99s are 98-02 4 door accords, Newer Model 3.2TL/TLS, M5, older 5 series BMWs, and umm thats about it. I've had people think my car was a 99 or a 2000 or a 2001, and believe me once I get my Z3 Fenders put on, LED mirrors, Stillen B.kit, C.F. Hood, it's going to be a headturner, already is but got in a fender bender . So I disagree the maximas do not look old and the body style is still gorgeous.

Well everyones entitled to an opinion. I personally think a honda accord 4 door is not a very nice looking car. I also think a carbo fiber hood looks rediculous, and if you want the look of the z3 fender, get a damn bmw. You say you like the look of the 4th gen but those few mods change the look of the car something that doesn't look nerely as nice as a 4th gen. Changing the corner lights, and red clears is imperrative. Also rims are very important since the stock rims look ugly. The 4 gen looks a lot nicer then the 5th and the 4th and 5th look 100 times better then the 6th gen. Especially that rediculous grill. I can't stand how a car company starts a trend, and then all the other manufactuers join the band wagon. This year its the round look.

And my obvious opinion: Make the car go faster than it looks.

I still remember driving off from the stealership.. not even a spec of dust was on the max. The Leather will never be that clean again. And soon I plan to toss thoses seats out on the curb.
For a a few years the max was so new and then later on the 5th generation hit the scene. That was the first time I recall thinking ... HMMM, my max is not the new one anymore !
Then moving right along a few more years passed on by. My 4th gen max still going strong, and then the 6th gen pops out. What tha ?
did someone at nissan make a terrible mistake ? Someone started badging the new 3.5 altima as maxima and vice versa. SO they just left it. I always wanted to Maxima to lean more towards sporty than luxury.
And then the NEW car explosion with more Horsepower and accleration ! The Max 4th gen 190 HP now seeming like its tiny.
Looking back this car was a great purchase and the car is still a super buy now. Considering what they cost new at the dealership fully loaded.
I would be curious to know what 4th generation Maxima owners would purchase today if shopping for a new car. I think I will post it.

i have a 95 and i just hit 88100 on it. man, all you people that say the car looks old. it doesnt matter what the appearance is, it matters whats under the hood. some people take pride in what theyve got. i love my baby and she still looks hot after 7 years.
just think: sleeper. heheh. they'll never know what hit em...

damn u guys with low mileage surprise me...especially those with 95's...i give u guys props for taking care of ur cars. But really, the car doesn't look old...they are old...haha, j/k...i just had this thought cuz a lotta people are reaching their 90k maintenence check up so it gave me this impression that the cars are getting old...But after reading some posts about ppl having like 50k and so on, on their cars, maybe i was wrong...sorry if i offended anyone.

96 with almost 130K feels just like I bought her only big money repair has been the front axles. Loved her when I got her, still love her now, she will be with me till she rusts to the ground. I want another Max but im just not sure about how I feel about the looks of the 5th and 6th Gens, plus I have been looking more at 3rd Gens lately.
