Real gains of a b pipe

Does anyone know what the real gains are from a b pipe?I was told by a perf. exhaust shop that it is not worth it. What am I really getting for hp/torque?Some people say it is only like 5-10 horse. Is that right or are they wrong?

just the b pipe itself has ranged from 3-6hp to the wheels on 2k-2k1 models.

The 3-6 sounds about right, throw a resonated test pipe in place of the rear cat for 2-3 more hp and you're ~7hp over a Y pipe alone. Considering an intake gives you about 5hp for $100-$200, and a 15 hp ECU reprogram for $400+ it's not unreasonable for the power you get while still being na and non nitrous.

I think a noteworthy point to make is that the unresonated b may show more gains than the resonated version.

unrersonated b-pipe has no advantages over a resonated one, plus its sound hurts the ears. not worth it! b pipe would give u minimal gains, even with a y-pipe.

the b-pipe it self doesn't make to much diffrence but if you have a y-pipe and a high flow cat and a muffler , it makes everything gain even more hp.

well, i bought mine after the y pipe. both are Budget. i still have a stock muffler, so everything is quiet. i cant say that i've noticed any power gains. i read on the .org before, that if you see a darker color on your b-pipe before the resonator, then it must be restrictive. mine was like that, plus mine was starting to go - i have a 1996, and live in the northeast so it was a no-brainer for me. it cost about as much as the y-pipe, but obviously, the y-pipe is a much better value.

i went to budget's website and they seem to only sell b-pipes for 97-99. did the budget b-pipe bolt up with no fitment issues on a 96?

yup, like a glove!.. just call them the only "issue" was (this happens with most b-pipes, regardless of the manufacturer), it was hitting the right lower control arm in the back on the bumps. my mechanic just used an exhaust "holder" to keep it in place.
