Help Alarm won't stop going off!
This just started happening this morning. My alarm just starting going off for no reason. So i went and checked it out, nothing was open so i rearmed my alarm and in 5 seconds it started going off again, i was in a rush so i said screw it i just won't arm it and started to walk away. Well even without arming my alarm it keeps going off. With the doors all unlocked and alarm unarmed it goes off. WTF? Right now i have my keys in the car with the ignition turned to acc cause thats the only way i could stop it from doing off (no tools to disconnect battery.) Is there anyway to disable the factory alarm? I looked for an alarm fuse but saw none (that would be silly anyway for car thieves if it was illustraited.) Any suggestions? i can't leave my car on all the time and i can't leave my battery terminal disconnected everytime i get out. HELP!

you could just disconnect the horn, but that would be dangerous.....right??
Sorry for the lack of help. I will be home in a few hours, and can look at my electrical diagrams and see if there is a way to disable the alarm..... until then, maybe someone else can help..... |
thanx for trying anyway. I had to take a long ride so and when i got where i was going, i put the alarm on again, walked away, and nothing! The problem just totally stopped. But i am worried that its gonna come back soon. So if there is a way to disable the alarm i still wanna know. Thanx though.

Weird, but i figured out that it only happens when i park on a downward slope where the front of the car is pointed down hill. My parking space is tops at a 10 degree decline and it does it which is really weird. Soon as i park on flat ground it stops. I haven't tried parking it on an incline to see if that has an effect. Oh well As long as it shuts up i'm happy and it has for now.

Having the same problem. No tampering. Stock alarm. Flat ground. Any suggestions?
Thanks mates! |
my alarm goes of sometimes and the only thing that stops it is by locking & unlocking the driver door with the key. dont know why. I didnt even know I had an alarm because I dont have a clicker

(holy bump batman) my car has a factory alarm but i also have no clicker. when i trigger it thoe no horn sounds, but when i go under the hood and move around the alarm horn wire i hear the relay click. do u think its the relay or the horn? |
That actually sounds possible?
I think getting an upgraded alarm is a better idea. Alarms are imperative. Also, I don't know too much about it but if you were to disable the alarm..wouldn't it, in turn, disable the car? Or do our alarms not work that way? |
No easy way to disconnect the alarm. You can try removing theft warning horn relay #1 and theft warning horn relay #2 and the theft warning lamp relay. They should be fine but make sure your horn and lights work normally after you remove the relays. I believe these relays are located under the hood. This is a short term solution anyway. I'll see if I can come up with something better.

Go under the hood and in that fuse box disconnect the fuse for the alarm, wait 5 minutes, then put it back in. Everything should be ok after that.

Thanks for the replies guys. I had to unlock the car three times and finally just left it unlocked. Seems fine today.
|
you could just pull the alarm fuse under the hood for now.
|
if the alarm fuse is pulled... won't it disable the starter?
|
i dont even have a horn stupid aftermarket steering wheel..lol but i either just get out of the way by slowing down or punch it if i have room so i really dont need it i guess. *knock on wood*...lol now im gonna need it and not have it.
