Crazy idea....but it's so neat

MY IDEA! But here it is. I just thought I have a fog machine at home so I was thinking to buy a DC to AC inverter and hook up the fog machine in the engine bay. Then I would lead hoses to my 2 front wheel wells. How cool would it look to see a Maxima just sitting there and plooms of fog come out. Even better, picture some sort of race...your ahead, press the fog button and fog comes flying out. Or just slowing down to a stop. I don't know but I think that it is so neat, kinda like a steam valve but with fog.

Well I'm working on it and I'll let you all know how it comes out

Dev Oct 9, 2003 06:06 PM

it'll look like your engine is overheated

ch13f Oct 9, 2003 06:06 PM

heh.. creative.

Overheating produces just a little steam...have you ever seen a fog machine? Those things create a hanius amount of fog, almost insane. Man, I can just picture it right now....

SXN Oct 9, 2003 06:09 PM

it will look like something is wrong with your car, and people will make fun of you

zeff789 Oct 9, 2003 06:10 PM

That'd look so funny, I think people would laugh...maybe not in a good way. Creative, but weird.

PoePoe2797 Oct 9, 2003 06:13 PM

I think id look nice, it would produce a fog that settles to the ground under your car if your sitting still. I make my own fog juice so it produces a thick thick fog that sinks

zeff789 Oct 9, 2003 06:15 PM

"Dude, there is something wrong with your car, its on fire!!"

"Don't worrry, it's just my fog machine."

thnikkamax Oct 9, 2003 07:18 PM

HA!

i did this already.. but not in a max... it was in a friend's precious turbo'd 89 RX-7. With the help of his bro (and behind the RX-7 owner's back) we got a lil fog machine in the engine bay and rigged it to the passenger's seat along with a hidden power inverter for juice.

We then set up a race (umm i mean cruise) between him and my max, and at the start, his bro is riding shotgun with him and hits the switch and a lot of smoke starts seeping out... he lets off the gas and i get to claim victory over a turbo'd 89 RX-7

so maybe it was cheating... but it was so frickin priceless

daroknessmonsto Oct 9, 2003 07:20 PM

quick! start a group deal on fog machines. count me in

Gen8888 Oct 9, 2003 07:34 PM

this just sounds like something like a fake BOV, supercharger whine etc... they sell on ebay. Just plain Rice! :slap:

But if it tickles your pickle, go for it.. goodluck

maxNYC Oct 9, 2003 07:36 PM

fogs and strobes blinking through the fog. hee hee...

RICE? Tell me, who do you know that has a custom installation of a fog machine on their car? Have you ever seen it before? I just don't see how you can call something "rice" like that...I mean, its not seen at all, or heard....it just emits fog with the push of a button

Something like that, but what i have planned is that its a very dense fog that settles and stays for a while....

jeff is ALWAYS good for a laugh :D the funniest thing it that we have a thread about in car fog machines  think about the moisture for a second. if its interior everythings gonna smell like fog juice, and u cant drive. and if its under the hood, important stuff (intake, wiring, battery) is gonna get soaked...and ur not going to be able to drive anyway. kinda sounds dangerous, not like distracting, but a complete block of all vision.

I was talking about having hoses leading into the wheel well, so no fog gets in the engine

TylerBorg Oct 9, 2003 10:47 PM

we tried this and blew a power inverter.... funny though

multiplexor Oct 10, 2003 06:10 AM

i say put it under the car and when you want just blast it... mke a blanket of smoke around the bottom of your car instead.... :)

OR....

make a tiny tiny tiny hold in the roof and have it come out from that little hole.........

OR...

rewire it so it passes through your washer nozzles, and covers the car that way!

OR! even cooler... when your driving....

have it blow out the front of the car and it'll pass right above and below your car, giving this neat effect!!!

MaxedOutOfCash Oct 10, 2003 06:26 AM

RICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but funny.

SuperFishstick Oct 10, 2003 08:26 AM

here's my idea. I want to have that BOV sound.. but loud, so it seems like i have 20 pounds off booooost....he he. COuld it be done?

MrEous Oct 10, 2003 08:42 AM

Keeping the fog machine inside the car and routing the fog through some sort of tubing would work good.

As said above...with the fogs and strobes...maybe even with neons...would be, in my opinion, for ricers. *shrug*
But I could see something like that in a show car...something in a magazine.

Torgus Oct 10, 2003 09:48 AM

if you want smoke to come out of your car. let me sit in it for a few minutes. it'll be so fishbowled you can't see a thing. i make my own fog thank you very much. and its much sweeter smelling also =]

kenji Oct 10, 2003 10:01 AM

yall are some haters.. besides what kind of engine problem would cause steam to come from the wheelwells? ... at the least it would look like he's roasting his tires

Ninos_Maxima Oct 10, 2003 10:51 AM

I think the Fog Machine will be OG, if it had some lazers to project the words Maxima, and other cool Maxima Montra's

Steaming his tires, maybe.

Boiler explosion? Leaking pressure cooker? Clothes press too hot? Steam catapult malfunction?

If you could laser project that picture of the Icy Hot Stuntas somebody had in their sig, that would be the shiznit!

NookieMax Oct 10, 2003 11:05 AM

I'v seen this done at two local shows, One Integra had the fog outlet under the car, giving it that "sitting on a cloud" look multiplexor is talken about. One eclipse just had it set behide the seat, it filled his car, :jeffy:everyone thought he had a fire and grouped around to watch.
Its def good show catcher!! :calder:
but it can either look really cool, or really stupid

just my $0.02

LastBoyScout Oct 10, 2003 12:15 PM

why not just do the old carb clearner trick.
Buy an old window washer resvoir and fill it up with carb cleaner. Then run the smaller spray hoses to your TB. Then every time you hit that "old" washer switch, you get boo-coo's of smoke out of your tailpipe, and its keeps your TB good and clean.
Anyway, that is just an old smokescreen trick from the Chevy car shows.

Interesting. You think that would make tailgators back off?

DoGGy Oct 10, 2003 12:34 PM

:thumbsdow

If that doesnt, then the sparkplug and 9volt battery trick would.

Install a sparkplug near the end or your tailpipe. Run a wire from the sparkplug up to a place near the driver's seat. Then, just kick it into nuetral, and attach a 9volt battery to the wire. Should ignite any extra gas fumes in your exhaust and shoot out a flame. If not, set your mix a little richer.

SXN Oct 13, 2003 12:38 PM

that would never work on our car... with cats in the way, not enough gets back there anyway. also, we run pretty tight with emissions but with a good mixture to make power :grinno:
