What Cools the MAxima Transmission

Hi I am recently going to be taking a long trip and ive had problems with transmissions overheating on other cars before on long trips. I am curious as to what cools our maxima transmissions. Do they have transmission coolers on them?? Does the Coolent that cools the engine circulate throught the transmission ?? Is their a fan ??? And is their any good fluid additive that i can add to help keep the tranny fluid cool ?? or any other suggestions would be very helpfull thanks !

maxima, as most cars with auto trannies has a stock tranny cooler that is built in the radiator (no, the liquids never mix). if you want additional cooling, add a transmission cooler ( i have a B&M 16000GW). you can get one at www.jegs.com, or any local parts store. i do think B&M is sturdier than Hayden, and B&M features a coolant bypass to allow the ATF to be at proper temperature.
