hack your stock air box for free. get a Y pipe. UDP is usually pretty a good idea, but not that cheap.

Here are some threads about the drop resistor mod:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=255799

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=246897

Just PLEASE don't use this mod at partial throttle. It's a WOT mod only. And believe it or not, this mod actually saves your tranny by putting less stress on the gears because when the car shifts, it engages the gears faster.

But like I said, WOT ONLY.

thats the thing, people used to just smack it on a switch, and turn it on when racing. yea its fine when it JUST comes on for the shift, but in general its not that healthy for the trans. IMO i think the valve body is better for the trans, and can yield better results.

I'm a cheapa$$, I'm sticking with the DR Switch.

At least till I can get my hands on a 5spd tranny.

the easy mods are the best. y-pipe, intake. If you have some money left upgrade the tires.

under drive pulley, weighs less than stock, so it takes less force to spin, and with a small diameter, spins easier... frees up some horsepower

not good for sound systems just to let you know unless you have a hardcore alternator

um, many people with systems have UDPs and have no trouble also, UDPs are pretty available...try a search (custom maxima has them, i dont think southwest does yet)

Personally I would go with hi-performance blinker fluid. Does double duty as your turn signals work more efficently as well.

Dont cruise musclecar boards? Some ricer actually believed someone about hi-performance blinker fluid. Went on for a few pages. Ended up on quite a few boards. Guess it never made it here.

55. A friend of mine had that on his auto max with 160,000 miles, no problems what so ever for over a year. He didn't even have an EGT gauge

I would definatly reccomend an EGT gauge so you can monitor what's going on in your engine. Once you have that you will be good to go. If you go higher like 75-100 I would also get a walbro fuel pump as extra insurance against running to lean. Nitrous is really safe if you know what your doing. I only have an SC right now, the laughing gas is in the works though

Instead of NO2, go straight to what the hardcore maxima owners are using! TB CLEANER BABY! It'll shoot you straight up to 7,000rpms upon startup!

Talk about BOOST, more like BANG!

That can't be good for your engine.....

well, thats a kinda...good idea. some people use propane injection (primarily on torque rigs, or diesels) and some use pure alcohal with a pressurize propellant...never heard of tb cleaner used for that

I personally think that using nitrous is cheating.....but then again, that would mean that turbo is cheating too......nevermind. Disregard this post.

I'd go boost if I had the money, and if my engine had low mileage. but 172,000mi is ALOT of mileage.

i think NOS is cheating too actually. i dont think well engineered turbos or super chargers arent though... just an opinion.

Why is it cheating, cause it's relatively cheaper. I used to think that nitrous was cheating also, but have come to believe in "You race what you brong!". You would'nt tell a turbo guy "Hey could you turn your boost down some?". Besides to get a lot of HP from a nitrous kit SAFELY you have to prepare the fuel system and in extreme cases the internals just as any other forced induction. Respect the gas.

P.S. : If you get a NO2 kit get a wet kit.
