When does it wine? When you step on the pedal or just when its idle? Because im trying to figure out why I have a humming noise coming from the ypipe i think. And my pedal is really soft when i press it down and i think i lost some low end, think its a leak?

i know where sl24iam is coming from...ever since i changed my alternator and had nissan change belts and make sure that everything was put back together, i have been getting that belt whine almost everytime i start the car and whenever it drops down to idle...its annoying as hell cause you lose LOTS of power when it happens, your lights are all dim and it makes a horribly loud noise.......i wish i knew what the fix is because whatever nissan did, didn't help my problem...however, the belt appears to have no wear on it....so maybe its something to do with the idler pulley?

Check the belt tension

http://www.cybrrpartspro.com/Manual%...delLookup.html

Select your "Year" and "model"
Look under "General Information & Maintenance"
Then under "Routine Maintenance and Tuneup"
Then "BELTS"

They probably just need to be tightened. They stretch a little bit after you run them for a while, but if you tighten it it'll be just fine. If you get it too tight, it won't squeak, but it'll mess up the bearings in the pulleys for things like ac or alt or ps and stuff.
