Ideas for replacing leather on driver's seat?
 

Hi -

My used 95 GLE came with damaged vinyl side planels on the driver's seat. Anyone know of an inexpensive way to get a new leather seat or replace just the front seats with a kit? I saw the GD on the Katzskin kits, but those are $500+ for all the seats, plus installation. I need only the driver's, or at most, the front two seats redone - and I don't have $500 to spend on the project.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Unless you want to get those cheesy looking "leather" seat covers at PepBoys or Autozone :rofl: you are pretty much out of luck. You may be able to find a group buy but I think either way your going to pay in up of 500. Check out ebay for used seats and you may find a bargain. Although the shipping costs (unless its a local pickup) will not make it such a bargain. Good luck! Stay away from ricey Pepboys and Autozone crap.

hey, i have the same problem but my rear seats are wrecked and my fronts are good. if you want, we can buy a interior set together and you get the front seats and i'll take the back seats. you need black leather right?

king - that acutally sounds like the best plan I have heard so far... I am looking for black leather, and I have no use for the rear seat kit...

I mistyped - ATD is the company in Connecticut that is going a group buy for the Katzskin interior for (I think) $520. Even with shipping, it is under $550. They even throw in contrasting stitching, I believe. Glad to see you're still interested, I'll PM you or post when I find out an actual price.
