They work great! I had the NGK Platinums installed before and the old plugs had 35K miles on them, so it was time for new ones. I bought them from http://www.ngkwholesale.com and they were $5.76 a piece which is an excellent price.

That's the first I've heard of Iridium plugs. What are the advantages over platinum?

My platinum plugs were still clean with 52,000 miles. I think you just threw out 25,000 miles of good spark. The iridium plugs are only good for 30,000 - because they are so much thinner. When did NGK start making Iridium? I thought the iridium was a Denso exclusive?

Check out this NGK link

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/product...idiumintro.asp

I don't really care about throwing away 25k worth of good spark as I usually change the plugs every 30K as part of a major service.

The Iridium IX plugs

Here are the part #s:

NGK Iridium IX

BKR5EIX-11 Stock#5464 - stock heat range for 4th Gen 95-99.

BKR6EIX-11 Stock#3764 - 1 Step colder.

Since my car is bone stock with the exception of the Stillen intake, i went for the stock heat range.

They're ready to install

Correct gap is preset from the factory. I did all 6 plugs in 30 minutes after work on Friday and it was a piece of cake.

I was quoted over $ 10 bux a piece for the stock replacement plugs by these same people less than a month ago. I'd say you got a very good price. Shouldn't these be more expensive than platinums?
