JWT vs Technosquare

Whats the difference between these two? they have the same applications and both give about 13 HP. The difference i can see is the price:JWT is $185 more. And for people that have either, what are they like, can you feel a definite difference from before having it?

There are TONS of posts about this but the main difference is that JWT has an increased rev limiter and Technosquare doesn't. If you don't have or plan on getting a MEVI, just get the technosquare one.

i don't think the JWT can hack the rev limit on 97, so unless you're planning on buying an older ECU and having JWT reprogram that one, might as well save money and get the TS.

So if technosquare doesnt raise the rev limiter, what DOES it do to help?

Ceasars Chariot 02-21-2004 06:55 PM

it makes your car faster , i notice around 3500 rpms the max just rockets off into the night !

Lean out the AFR = more power
More advanced ignition timing map = more power

Like Ceasar mentioned, it really helps a ton in the mid-range.

Blackwind 02-21-2004 07:08 PM

but they havent made the 98's yet i dont think.

Nealoc187 02-21-2004 07:20 PM

MaxGR97 do you know a guy named Skylar (Schuylar? not sure how to spell it) that drives a black 94 or so civic EX in grand rapids by chance? He works at JC Penney I think. If not then totally disregard this question, I just met the guy tonight my sister is dating him and he said he has a friend in GR with a modified max.

Anyways the benefit of the JWT is that it raises the rev limiter which is useful if you are getting an MEVI. If not then it would be better for you to go with the technosquare.

Just my .02 - the JWT ECU is quality stuff... I would recommend it because it really works (not that Technosquare doesnt mind you) and you can also keep the option of the MEVI open for down the road. Sorry if I sound biased but I just Dynoed my car w/the new ECU and the graph is like born again...

The biggest problem with the JWT is waiting for it IMO. If you are in the Bay Area, I know a shop that can get you a JWT in about a week since they have alot of pull with em.

Nealoc, no i dont knokw this guy, and my max is in storage so no one in the area has seen it yet, so its not me the guy knows. Btw whats your sisters name and the JC penny guys name, and what school does the JC penny guy go to? and what school do YOU go to? lots a questions i know...SO anyways i think ill go with the technosquare if i ever decide to get a modded ECU cuz im not getting MEVI. Thanks, that answered most of my questions.

MaxGR97 02-22-2004 05:11 PM

I interested in the technosquare now, so i got some questions...it says 97 and 98 need a 95-96 ECU installed or whatever, does this mean that i need to be a 95 or 96 ECU in order to get the mod? if so how much do they cost and where can i get them? also how long does it take to get teh ECU back after you send it into technosquare? And you CANT drive your car without and ECU right? please respond.

Nealoc187 02-22-2004 06:28 PM

OK I was just wondering if you happened to be the friend he was talking about. Guess not. Anyhow my sister's name is Krin and the guy's name is Skylar (im not sure if I'm spelling it right). they both go to GVSU. I go to WMU in Kalamazoo.

Since you have a 97 you would have to find a 95-96 ECU from a junkyard and send that to be modified. they can't modify the 97 ECU at this time. Then you would replace your 97 ECU with the modified ecu. Because you will have to find another ECU you don't have to worry about not driving your car because you will still have your stock ECU. They are $380 through the group deal but I don't know if the group deal price is still available. I think their website says $595. Technosquare is fast unlike JWT and you should have your ECU back in a little over a week from what I hear.

Does anyone have a link to the Technosquare website?

Fellas, soon as someone in Cali can get there 95/96/97 Max over to Technosquare, we can also have a Raised Rev Limiter ECU. I've been trying to get Cheston to take his Max there for months.
