POP Charger owners
#1
Just recieved my POP Charger in the mail(after a month, from courtesy nissan) and i was wondering how you guys like it? I have a '95 Maxima and was wondering if you like the sound and performance of this intake? and any problems on install? didn't install it yet, will when i get back home from work, thanks...

After installing it, the first time you will rev it up it might even scare you. It kind of grows on you as you go along. I have had it for a month now. It is more of a growling noise than a heavy tone that I was expecting it to be. If you like your car to be noisier and threatening, then its a good sound. If not, you should really be looking into the CAI. I am already thinking of getting the CAI.

Humm.....
well I have one..bought it from a fellow max owner.
here are my impression:
1. BAD if weather is hot
2. GOOD, if weather is not hot
3. Not noisy if you are gentle with the pedal
4. Noisy if you are pedal happy
5. Definately increases my highway MPG.
6. power gain? minimal and you actually lose power when it is hot out there. When cool it is a different story.
7. idle is fine...I am using 93 octane...no ping
The ideal setup for a pop charger is to have it directly exposed to the cooler ambient air. The only way to do this is to do the CAI setup...which is not a pop setup again
or have a scoop close by.
I am going to try to modify my stock airbox so that it imitates the pop charger somewhat but uses panel filter.
Andi B. did this in his supra.....it seems to work somewhat. A few guys in the group also did this. I am gonna try and work on mine.
