Couldn't find this in the how-to's so hopefullys someone knows.

A friend of mine has teh trunk on his Civic mod'ed to where it pulls up and leans forward toward his back glass. A guy on CarDomain has it done. Was wondering if anyone knew how to do it or where I could find a how-to. Looked in the how-to's and didn't see anything that resembled what I'm looking for.

Need opinions on this, I think it looks great but I'm not sure about the hinges. Anyone think there is a way to give the hinges a better cosmetic look (spraypainting, etc... ?) I guess I could find black hinges.

Anyone comment, good/bad idea?

MiLLzZ Mar 6, 2004 09:20 PM

hrm..seems confusing...the bending part i can do...and all the other stuff...but installing the hinges i just don't get...lol

Yea, I was more or less concerned of the cosmetic look. All those extra holes he had in there scared me. And the gate bolt that allowed the trunk to sit horizontal seemed a little....."ghetto" is the only word that comes to mind but I don't mean it in a bad way. I just wish there was another part I could use rather than the gate deadbolt..thing.

I would never do this. If you open your trunk in the rain/snow, you'll get everything inside wet!

Never really thought about that......definitely not taking that chance. Thanks for telling me that Sryth. And Chef, thanks for telling me Tony's username. Wonder if he has any troubles......

I'm pretty sure there was someone that didn't use the gate latch, but I think he did alot of welding... i personally think the gate latch is a pretty good idea. how many people are going to look under the trunk when you have it flipped up?

You can make it so that you can flip-flop when you want to and not all the time

ManualMaxima Mar 7, 2004 08:53 AM

Push2TheMax Mar 7, 2004 04:17 PM

Hm, may take a trip to Lowes tomorrow then and see what my options are.

DoGGy Mar 7, 2004 05:05 PM

it will be really hard tryin to close the trunk because u gotta get it fit in exactly the way its suppose to. besides, it might hang a little loose too.
