If you're looking for cheap parts this websited is great...

I'm sure a lot of you know this site but for the newbies....

I was in search of a 98 heated driver side mirror... prices were from $120-$167 and i couldn't find it...
This site had one for $49.99 (brand new) . . . i figured what the heck, i ordered it & i just got it... i think it's aftermarket but I cannot tell the difference, shipped in 3 days & for that price I am really really happy....
anyway, they got some other parts too...

is also good

I don't know. The first site has 97-99 bumpers for about $30 more than a few others. The page jepht20 posted doesn't even work.

MaxedOutOfCash Apr 16, 2004 10:12 AM

well, not all the parts are really cheap (headlights for example you can get cheaper on e-bay) . . .
But my mirror was a steal at that price PLUS they actually ship their items out to customers within a reasonable time frame...

Sorry to jack up the thread but how can you turn the heater mirrors on? I have them on mine and dont know how to turn them out.

DAVE Sz Apr 16, 2004 10:17 AM

True Sam, some of the prices on other stuff are great.

Umm, no. If you go to nissan and pick accesories or specials, anything you pick after that gets you a 404.

it does it automatically when you put the heat on (i think the front windshield defroster) so you don't have to turn it on...

When winter comes  and there's ice on it, turn the heat on & watch it melt...

I thought that it was tied into the seat heater controls. On my 97 i30 the seat heater controls have 2 rocker settings. Middle is off, and it can rock forward or backwards. I believe one turns on the mirror heaters while the other does not.

According to our 4th gen manual, heated mirrors are turned on when the rear defroster is activated.

You are correct that is exactly how mine work. For those who would like to try , turn on you rear defroster and place your finger tips on the side view mirrors in ......about 1 min ; they will be nice and toasty.

hmmm,

On this site : http://www.nissanautobodypartstore....xima-parts.html

The 1996-1999 Nissan Maxima Mirror Lh (Driver Side) Power Remote, Non-Heated is 116.77$

and the 1996-1999 Nissan Maxima Mirror Lh (Driver Side) Power, Heated is only 48.46$

I dont get it...

I supose you bought the 48$ one, is it really power remote / heated ?

Maximized Jiggs Apr 16, 2004 10:03 PM

I tried that today and my mirrors dont heat up. According to the FAQ i have them on my GLE, with the heated seats etc. Great.

Yeah, that dealership is local to me so I usually get the order in one to two days. It's a legit 25% off list with free shipping.

I wouldn't order from that website that the person posted, that's just me. For example, at Conicelli you get a OEM hood for $269. At the other website, you get an imitation for $225. I'm not willing to save 15% and get a knock-off part that probably will work but not fit or last as well. My Maxima hood has chips in it, yet it hasn't rusted. With the imitations there will be rust. How do I know? Go see any friend that has had body work--it's rare that a body shop will use OEM body parts. But don't worry, they DO charge your insurance co. the OEM list, which on the hood is $357.98. To tell you the truth, I would hate to feed that secondary autobody and parts industry, they sure do rip people off.

vsamoylov Apr 17, 2004 10:49 AM

http://www.partznet.com/ ,
do they ship the right item always cause i oredered once from a website like that and they shipped me the wrong part.
