Gas door doesn't shut....anyone know how to fix?
 

My gas door will not shut. In order for me to shut it, I have to have someone pull the handle inside the car and someone shut the door. How can I fix this myself without the dealership raping me?

I dont have a 4th gen, but it sounds like the pole that opens the door and keeps it closed isn't returning to it's normal position...

I have the same problem. I smudged a little 3m tape on the inside of it. its a temp fix.

Check the hinges. I had this problem when my gas-door hinges rusted shut on me. Hit 'em with some WD-40 and see if that helps. You may have bent the hinges, which means they have to be bent back.

Eventually I actually pealed the hinges when I opened the door; after that the door wouldn't close at all.

the little black noob that held my door closed went in and never came out anymore. I close it, but it doesn't close all the way.
