Got the Murano rims on...and no i'm not lowering it...

Let me start right here and now and say no, I am NOT going to lower the car, I know there is a gap, the car came with one...deal with it. I owned 2 Integras before that were lowered 2" and it was fun while at college, but i've "been there, done that". I live around Cleveland and we have this thing called "lake effect snow"...literally feet come down at a time. I was tired of driving a snowplow with the Integras. The Max is just fine how it is. Also, Cleveland has potholes the size of large pizzas and a dropped Max = a hurt Max. Lastly...I got tired of running over roadkill with the Integras and dragging them home with me hung up on the exhaust...mmmm.....smells great!!

Now then, I picked up these 2004 Murano 18's recently and put the Continental Extreme Contacts. 235/40/18 on them.

I personally think they look good, these pics were taken before I washed the car/rims today. Please tell me your thoughts...ugly? Look good? Mediocre?

Oh yeah...i'm not lowering it. :nono:

Here's the tires:

enjoi Jun 20, 2004 07:31 PM

but i like them, just have to get past the fact that you're definetely not going to drop it, and they look good. i like.

nismos14 Jun 20, 2004 07:32 PM

ABK Jun 20, 2004 07:33 PM

but anyway, the wheels look really good imo... how much did you pay for them?

edit: do you know how heavy they are?
edit2: the gap doesnt even look that large with those wheels on, man I really want to drop these on my car now

Magikone69 Jun 20, 2004 07:34 PM

those rims look kinda hot. now im going to add 5th gen se, 6th gen se, g35 and now murano rims on my search when i go to yards for rims. i actually saw a wrecked murano 2 weeks ago with the rims still on em, kinda wish i snatched them up now. how much did u pay.

a lil advice when posting pics, make em a tad bit smaller cause it sorta fawks up the whole page and requires to side scroll to read the text.

ABK Jun 20, 2004 07:35 PM

those rims are extremly heavy too at least they were when I worked at the dealership.

nupe500 Jun 20, 2004 07:41 PM

NICE...maybe shrink the pics...but the car definately looks good...I always thought those would look nice on a maxima.

RA030726 Jun 20, 2004 07:44 PM

1FSTMAX Jun 20, 2004 07:47 PM

Bring your car to Northeast Ohio...it won't last 1 winter here. Peddle your lame blanket statements elsewhere.

jkklim Jun 20, 2004 08:13 PM

Those rims look real nice!

ABK Jun 20, 2004 08:19 PM

VIP Maxima Jun 20, 2004 08:25 PM

looks good. at least drop it on some h&r !

or better yet, its been a long time since coilovers have been invented !

Jackboot Jun 20, 2004 08:30 PM

Relax.

They look pretty good, and that win w/the ebay auction is a steal!

nismology Jun 20, 2004 08:42 PM

Damn i can't get over that wheel gap. I tried...:( :slant:

a_prince1 Jun 20, 2004 08:48 PM

they look good man. i personally like the gap. makes the car and wheels stand out more.

97WhtSE Jun 20, 2004 08:49 PM

Rims look good on the car but if u can lower it then it would look a lot better. Get coilovers. I live in Cleveland Oh too and i have an accord and a integra both slammed. Where in Cleveland are u actually?

DAVE Sz Jun 20, 2004 08:51 PM

Looks like the rear wheels have some serious allignment problems.

suprropmp Jun 20, 2004 09:01 PM

man, all of you need to get over the wheel gap issue... its not that bad (especially on this car)

that looks awsome! they are factor wh9ch means they not not weak as after market rims usually are. you should be fine just watch and go slow.

liqidvenom Jun 20, 2004 09:56 PM

i like it even with the wheel well gap. and y destroy your car if u dont want to lower it. pot holes suck and the softness of the stock suspension helps out.

nostrixoxide Jun 20, 2004 10:28 PM

What's up Tex? Glad to see you finally got those things mounted. They look pretty sweet, did you notice a difference in handling? Thats the first thing I tested when I but then on, I just had to go hit some swoopy roads. I know your against the lowering issue, but you should consider it. Besides even with a 2" drop on a Maxima, you still have alot of ground clearence. I actually just lowered mine alittle more. I'll get some more pictures for you to check out in a day or 2. Anyways, congrats on the stylin new setup!!!!!!!

Wisky97SE Jun 20, 2004 10:44 PM

The wheels look great as does the color of the car. And although you seem extremely against dropping it, there are options you could go to make the car look better and be not far off from stock at all in terms of ride quality. H&R Sports are a 1.3 inch drop and will make a visual difference while drastically improving handling and stability. Once you pair this with a great strut like a Tokico Illumina or Koni Yellow, your car will not ride like a slammed civic or integra.

You might want to also note that low profile summer tires are not the best choice for snow, I advise you save your old set for the wniter.

Seximus Maximus Jun 20, 2004 10:56 PM

Coilovers=problem solved In the meantime u can put the beatch on some H&R's and plow driveways for the money ul need to save for-m.

Ninos_Maxima Jun 20, 2004 11:59 PM

Man i knew somone would steal my secret Idea, Well anyways Now i got a good look as to how they would look on our car, its cool but there to F'in heavy

Nealoc187 Jun 21, 2004 12:46 AM

Driven for 3 winters lowered 2.75" in southwest michigan, 20 miles from the lake shore, more lake effect and potholes than cleveland could ever dream of having and the max is still just fine. Just gotta get good at dodging em :D Anyhow it looks just fine as it is good work

{-_-} Jun 21, 2004 01:05 AM

nice wheels... :) go with whatever look you wanna..

$260 shipped? dayam... holy bidding skills...

metallic97gxe Jun 21, 2004 03:00 AM

those wheels look great man...I feel ya on the not lowering issue

Kashoggio Jun 21, 2004 03:02 AM

you need to lower it, its not like them rims are going to do great in the snow anyways.

7EyesOpen Jun 21, 2004 05:05 AM

It looks good. One of my favorite colors for the Max.
