how much of a wheel gap will i get after putting on 18's with stock suspnsion?
i really want to avoid getting a new suspension due to the fact that i dont have enough for both rims and suspension...so i was wondering about how much bigger will the wheel gap be if i got 18's with 235/35/18 ....compared to my stock 16's
get suspension first, trust me it aint pretty
35 profile tires seem to thin man. With 18s 40s should be the thinnest to get. I couldn't imagine driving on those everyday. What size rims? Like Nismo said, getting rims before suspension is a bad idea, looks wise at least. With the skinny sidewall you mentioned I woulsn't be surprised if the gap gets 2x as bad as the stock gap.
but since im gettin a thinner tire and a bigger rim would the 2 cancel each other out? or am i thinking of it the wrong way?
You got it backwards. If you got a bigger rim with the same size sidewall the gap would probably get smaller. If you got a 18" rim with SUV tires there would be no gap.
depends how wide the 18s are you are getting, with 18x8 and 18x7.5, you should be using 235/40/18
Definately drop it. The significantly shorter sidewall on 35 or 40 series will make the car look lifted big time. Anytime the sidewall is shorter than the wheel gap it creates an optical illusion that makes the gap look even bigger than it is.
so does that mean if i get 235/45/18's the gap wont look at big as 235/40/18?
What size rim are you planning on getting?

dependin on the setup, most likely the wheel gap will be the same as stock plus or minus a centimeter(s), regardless u should drop it
OK. Get 18s that are at least 8" wide. That way you can use 235-245/40-45/18 tires.
definitely drop it...just to show you, these are 18"s w/ 235/40/18's dropped w/progress and agx's.

the wheelgap on stock suspention even with 18's is huge....i had my stock suspension with my 18's for about 2 months and it made my 18's look like 16's...definately lower your car soon after if not before the rims. even after a little bite the stock suspension will start to get warn with the ride and will eventually start to ride like crap. definately get suspension

I don't think it looks bad, MaxedOutofCash.
I like it with those wheels on there, even without the drop. |
Definitely get the drop first. The gap is horribly(?) hugh. I know these aren't 18s but the tires are 245/35zr19. This is before the AGX/H&Rs combo. Hope this helps.

The gap looks ok on Maxedoutofcash's car with the 45 series tires IMO. If you really don't want to drop it, maybe look into the 45/18's
