Adding LED's to my speedometer cluster a few questions??

I was reading the write up on adding the bright white LED's to my gauge cluster and it doesnt seem that hard but im still a little nervous about doing it my first question is when i remove the gauges from the cluster is ok to move the needles not remove the needles from the gauges but gently move them to sand away the orange from the needles to make the needles clear. Will this screw up the way the needles will work when i reinstall the cluster. Anybody done this mod? How hard did you find it to be and how long did it take you? I have about average knowledge in soldering just trying to find out how complicated this is soldering wise and how long it might take me since i would only have the weekend to do it.

i've done it, you can move the needles while you sand. Just be careful with it. It'll take you probably around 2-3 hours with all the testing and running back and forth fromyour car.

or you can do it the easy way and but led #74 lights off ebay. no soldering required. sand the led's down, it stick them in where the old bulbs went and be on your way. very easier and cleaner. and i as i have seen just as effective.

do it the easy way when it provides a better result. (cleaner, less permanent, and just as effective)

i just bought LED bulbs from Superbightleds.com and just popped them in. MIne have 6 mini blue leds per bulb, more than enought to light up the cluster at night.
