Think I done a wrong'un...
:nervous:
So I got a new muffler welded in today, it's an OTTO racing universal type, with a big old 4" tip... It's got a really deep tone to it... looks pretty smart, etc, etc But... From about 1,000 to 2,500 RPMs it really really drones... It sounds great at WOT, anything above 3,000-3,500 RPMs even, but lower down the range it's like standing next to the bass bins at a club... It's making my ears ring :( I've done a wrong'un haven't I... Either that or I just have to drive everywhere in 3rd from now on... Go on, you can :slap: me :nervous: Cheers K |
well if its too loud, then change it. id recommend (from reading) a dynomax... they are relatively quiet...
that or get another resonator welded in, that would let you save your newly purchased muffler... and just tone it down a bit. |
good thinking jdm7488 i was thinking that also.. ;)

Cheers!

It's a real tough one, as I love the sound higher up the powerband, but most of my driving is in the 'drone' range... I'm getting a Y pipe in the next couple of days too, so god only knows what it'll be like after that... Thanks again K |
I hate the low RPM drone. It's the soul reason I don't want to get a straight-through flow muffler anymore.
Ask the mechanics, if another resonator will help then do it. There are probably different ones you can buy that will help with this. |
resonator .

The dynomax isn't all that great sounding.

i know there are a couple of universal mufflers that have adjustable silencers so that you can adjust how loud it is.
