Shiftknob for 4th gen...any ideas?
I'm looking to replace my old, stock 98 shiftknob with something else, better looking (leather on the old one is just all messed up and looks like I rubbed it with a spung).
Few things of what i'm looking for are:
1. I dont want it to be metal, or at least I dont want it to get Ultra hot on the sun, since I park my car at work for a day and everything heats up nicely on the sun.
2. Something comfy to use, but since I only used the stock one, don't really know if I should get same form, or maybe try the round one. Any ideas?
3. What feels better, leather? Metal? Rubber? something else?
Also, would be nice to see some pics of different ***** of how they look like.
Thnkx all

I always just use a sunscreen on my car. Even when I forget to it doesn't stay hot after being parked for long.....anyway - just a sugesstion. www.knobmeister.com - he'll engrave and sell you the actual ****...with whatever you want on it - about $65.00....

that's a nifty website he posted, gonna look at it some more.
here's mine, i've got a B&M short throw.. so it sits slightly lower, with a MOMO F16 chrome/leather **** and MOMO leather shift boot (it was a larger round generic one with rubber band for universal fit, i matched it up with my stock plether and cut out the pattern and sewed it to fit perfectly.)
the boot threads onto the base of the **** (all momo ***** have thread on the bottom that is covered by a little piece that comes with the ****, you remove it for a boot, such as in my case.)

Go to any import shop/store and try out a few different *****. See how they feel in your hand, see what material you like better. Get the model of that ****, and order it somewhere online for much cheaper.

Sorry to highjack, but I have a problem regarding the shiftknob. How do you take it off? I tried taking mine off, but it was impossible like it was stuck...The only thing that would turn was the leather covering, but not the knobitself....Any ideas?

Use both hands if you have to...maybe wrap a towel around it for a better grip. It felt like my leather was turning, but it didn't hurt it at all. I even kept the old ****....just in case.
