Need input on flywheel/clutch

Well guys looks like i'll be needing a new flywheel. What are your opinions on if I should just go with oem flywheel or go for an aftermarket flywheel like for example Fidanza? I've heard and read from threads that Fidanza could possibly cause bogging issues and not sure if other aftermarket flywheels would perform the same. Do you think its worth getting an aftermarket lightened flywheel instead of OEM? Also I may change the clutch since it seems to slip when under heavy pressure, launching/racing. Should i also stick with an oem clutch or possibly go for Exedy stage1 or something similar? I always hear that the oem clutch is great and I don't plan on adding boost anytime soon. Any suggestions is great. Thanks

You are probably gonna get the best advise from those in the Supercharged/Turbocharged forum. Alot of those guy's "have to use" aftermarket clutch set up's so there advise is gonna be from 1st hand knowledge & experience.

Thanks for the advice, I will post in that forum if I dont get too much feedback from here. Also another question, should i go ahead and buy a whole clutch set or wait till the tranny is dropped and take a look at the old clutch and see what is worn out so I can just purchase what parts i need to replace for ex. just the pressure plate etc.. Thanks..

I have the Exedy Sage 1 and a Stillen Flywheel.
I love my setup. With the lightened flywheel the RPMs climb very quickly.
On a down side, they drop quickly as well.
Many have said that too light of a flywheel will cause you to have to launch at a higher rpm. I dont really notice any difference.
The Exedy Stage 1 grabs really nice and is just a bit stiffer then stock but not so much that it effects daily driving.
In all, Id say go for it. The fidanza is the prefered favorite for a flywheel and I havent heard any bad things about it.

No, no, no, you should always replace all the components when you take on a task like this. Pressure plate, clutch, release/throwout bearing, it would suck if you had to take apart your car because a stupid $15 dollar bearing took a **** on you. Deffinitly replace it all at once.
