Need Pics of DTM's!!!

I'm getting bored of my red/clears and wanted to see if I should give the DTM's a try. Anyone have pics? Preferrably a White Maxima? :doublethu

maxima10to1, in that first pic.....Is that reflective tint, or just glare from the angle on the windows?

All those tails look totally hot, guys.

thanks guys, i'm most likely going to do this when i get the chance. i have a couple of questions though.
1. Signals must annoy the people behind you since there are no reflectors right?

2. How many degrees and for how long should you put the tail light in the oven?

=)

you would have to have red clears, and they dont make them, you make them

but there is no easy way to make them, you have to get the apc all clears off ebay for like 3-400$ then you have to get the paint to match perfectly, i hate you 97-99's you get all the good tails!

i used 200*f for 7 minutes, and if they werent ready I put them in and retried pulling them apart after 2 minutes, and 2 more and 2 more untill they came apart easy. I didnt use any tools to pry them apart.

Heres a link to my max and hectoc's with DTMLINK

1NICEMAX Sep 26, 2004 08:49 AM

nice, hey guys what kind of paint did you use, and how many coats?

MAXDADDY98 Sep 26, 2004 11:32 AM

Used a Flat Black and about 2 to 3 coats it depends

mendon99 Sep 26, 2004 01:09 PM

200 degrees for like 10-12 minutes.. make sure all the screws are out and pull SLOW

1NICEMAX Oct 11, 2004 12:33 PM

hey guys, i'm taking them apart now and i borrowed my friends "smoke" spray can. you think it'll look like the pictures above if i add more coats than usual?

Ant96GLE Oct 11, 2004 01:01 PM

They look great in real life.

I havent seen anyone who has done them by tinting the inside though. All the ones I've seen they've tinted them on the outside. I'm sure they look a millions times better by tinting them inside.

1NICEMAX Oct 11, 2004 01:36 PM

what?? i thought everyone painted the inside (the non-lens part) =( i hope they come out just as nice

Ant96GLE Oct 11, 2004 01:49 PM

Yea up close it looks bad... like someone put a piece of tape over the lights... but from a distance it looks great.

You can do it on 95/96's too, just tint them on the outside. But make sure you do a good job at it.

1NICEMAX Oct 11, 2004 02:03 PM

ok just finished the outer right tail light, looks pretty good, unfortunately i don't have my digital camera with me but definitely this weekend i'll post it up. btw, i was thinking how about just smoking the outer's and leaving the inners alone. i'm gonna try that first and see how they look and take pictures. =)
