Who has 19's on their max??

I was going to order some EV-S 19's, I have 18's right now. How much difference is there? Like is the gas milage, power and braking different from 18's? If someone could tell that would be cool. Thanks.

oh yeah and with no charger

wow were do I start...19s are great to have on your car but they slow down your car tremendously. From experience, 19s lower your gas mileage, you will have to drive more careful, but you do get more looks than anything. I love my 19s but I realize that I love performance alittle more. If you are performance minded these are not for you (obviously) but if you are in to the bling factor then these are definitly for you.

One more thing, I recently had to take off my 19 moda r6s...one of the rubber band tires that i have on these rims popped because of debris. But you do have to remember that low profile tires are really more prone to being damaged easier than other types of tires. Plus if you don't get it fixed right away you could risk damaging your rims. Other than that 19s really really really look fcuking tight!!!!!

For me, I could hardly tell the difference with the stock 16's I had to the 19's I have now, performance wise. I just came back from booking it around town and on the highway and it pulls just as hard from a rolling stop. From a standstill, there is a tiny bit of weightiness. I'm still completely stock and auto too. I haven't put on my y-pipe yet. Just want to get a butt dyno into memory so I can compare later :)

Mileage wise, I'm getting the same as with the stock wheels. 18-20MPG all city driving. So roughly 480-500km's (Or 300-320 miles) until the idiot light comes on.

Brake power seems to be just as good as before. Using OEM pads, fluid, etc..

So for you, moving up from 18's to 19's, the differences would probably be very negligible. Only thing that do annoy me with the 19's is how much more easily they are to getting chipped by road debris.

2. does debris hitting your rims happen often
3. did you go from 18's to 19's?? I don't know ill notice too much difference going from 18 to 19 do u think??

thanks for answering my questions, i always research a lot b4 i buy, so bare with me

from stock to 18 inch? if thats what ur asking, yes. A lot less power, it's harder for the car to spin the wheels, and it doesnt brake as well is a big thing.

puremax Sep 27, 2004 05:34 PM

to the bump

Ant96GLE Sep 27, 2004 05:34 PM

I only have one question, where do you live?

yea...i mean depends. I have 18" EVO5's but im thinking of going to 19's now. If your for looks get 19's. If you want performance, and you drive your car like it is stolen ...i'd stay with 18's.

First off...I just want to say that by my first post it looks that I'm dogging 19s but i'm not. I just want everyone to know that 19s are really great to have but you have to maintain them more than smaller wheels.

Anyways, your answers to your questions:
1. I still have the original set of tires that i bought with my 19s. But they do look alittle worn after about a year of use.
2.Yes...i've had rocks falling off trucks and other shiit hit my wheels. :nupe500:
3. No, I went from 16 to 19. I hugh jump between wheels. But I really don't think that you will feel a big difference in performance or ride coming from 18s.

puremax Sep 27, 2004 06:03 PM

i just wanna talk with someone who has gone from 18'a to 19's, just curious

Worry about potholes, you'll bend them in no time somewhere like here in NYC.

I have 19's and my car is just as fast as any other 4th gen around here. We caravan to meets and play chase on the hwy all the time. This car is no slouch. And it looks better.

19's with a 235/35-19 are only 2/10 of inch taller than a 235/40-18 (this is a very common tire choice) and makes 2 less revolutions per mile.

PTownMax Sep 27, 2004 10:26 PM

i love my 18"s

liqidvenom Sep 28, 2004 12:04 AM

if performance is that important y not get 19's n then make the car faster to make up the difference...
