Instrument/Guage cluster not working!!!!
I have a 96 SE and the guages all of the sudden stopped working. They were on yesterday morning for sure while I had the car on in the garage and later on that day I noticed they stopped working. Everything reads "0" and the fuel guage is frozen at 1/4 tank (thats where it was before I filled up). I went and got a used alternator hoping that would fix the problem because I was told the car was running just off of the battery. But, everything is the same...I need help!

I know this is a reply to a SUPER OLD POST. However this may help someone fix their issue and is relevant.
My 1995 did this to me just yesterday. I changed out my alternator as well.
I changed the printed circuit board portion on the back of the cluster. Works great. I took it off of a cluster from a 1996 Infinity. It seems that even up into the 97 and 98s...... maybe even the 99s that the circuit boards are the same. This is for the ANALOG gauges though. When I say analog I'm talking about the Speedo as having the numbers that "roll on by" to indicate mileage.
I'm not sure about all the specifics about the electronic readout ones. But I did look at my 99 cluster with the electronic readout and it was a NO GO.
