Performance Chip?

I was on EBay, and I found someone selling a Performance Chip that goes on the ECU and it "boosts HP" not by a lot, but just a little bit. It was $5 and it gaurantees that it wont hurt the car and its completely 1-2-3 to put it in.

Have ya'll heard of this and does it work at all? Its on its way here, and I am hoping it wasnt complete BS ... I know when we has our Trans AM WS6, there was a performance chip for it and it did improve the HP ... but that was a super charged V8 to begin with. LOL LOL

Help ... please ;) I'd appreciate it.

:woowoo:

AntiVelvet 10-16-2004 04:14 PM

Is there more? I just want to see what it looks like. If that was the price he was looking for its probably crap

Mr.Duck 10-16-2004 04:18 PM

umm.. those are supposed to be crap.. complete crap..

slizan99 10-16-2004 04:32 PM

completely worthless.

Taken2DaMax 10-16-2004 04:53 PM

It's not worth getting it. I bought one of those things just to see if all of their BS was really true. From experience, it didn't do anything at all except collect dust on my shelves.

goodhead 10-16-2004 06:52 PM

i think if you buy like 10 of them and hook it all up together u get mad boost :D

Zipp028 10-16-2004 10:49 PM

OneToughMax 10-17-2004 12:20 AM

sunten1 10-17-2004 07:26 AM

my friend bought one for his couger and then his guages got ****ed up....

THT 10-17-2004 03:25 PM

Total crap. The only ECU upgrades worth mentioning for a 4th gen are from Technosquare and JWT.

lilaclucymaxima 10-17-2004 04:47 PM

complete crap... why would you order it before asking if it was garbage or not? :gotme:

yhtan76 10-17-2004 07:03 PM

From what I heard, 10 out of 10 said they are useless.

minsbang 10-17-2004 07:12 PM

so the .org community gives the product "two thumbs down" You're better off donating that money to the .org

GoalieKeg 10-17-2004 07:34 PM

The FAQ's mention this mod twice. It is an timing advance pos that gives you horrible gas mileage, and f's up your car.

Don't get it.

tavarish 10-17-2004 08:02 PM

on the positive side, you've rid your wallet of those five dollars, which is weight reduction, which makes your car faster!!!

laylow1988 10-18-2004 10:41 AM

:king2:

chuckie311 10-18-2004 11:12 AM

this is what you need when you buy crap like that off ebay :deezo:
dont you think every performance shop would sell them is it was that easy to add 20 hp to your car :tardsmash

Keyser Skoze 10-18-2004 11:26 AM

I dont think people understand how expensive 20 hp is to add to a car.
Some people have almost run out of things to do aside from a blower, and havent really gotten that much compaired to how much they have spent.

MaxedOutOfCash 10-18-2004 11:53 AM

i suggest trying to get the car to start before buying performance chips :wall:

chrish09 10-18-2004 01:24 PM

i bought one of those off ebay just to check it out and as soon as it arrived i knew it was complete crap

Jinni 10-18-2004 01:30 PM

The car does start :nono: LOL Sometimes it just kills, but it wont after I fix the sensor! .. smartass .. lol

Hey, 1. it wasnt my money 2. at least i asked before i put the damn thing on my car. lol

I was just asking an honest question, dont be such turds about it... like i said, there was a chip on our old car and it was worth a shi0t, I wasnt sure if this was the same thing or not. :tardsmash

I appreciate the feedback though guys :) Thank ya very much :).
I'm allowed one stupid question ... I promise to never do it again.

Ima dumb *** ... turns out its not a "performance chip" like the a$$hole said it was ... its a resister taped to a peice of paper (thats what a couple of the buyers said anyway ...) so now i am going to be stuck with that peice of ****. I think I am going to sell it to some high school kid for $20 ... since it was only $5 and I didnt buy it in the first place ... LOL .... it says "I gaurantee it will add 20-40HP instantly!"

I knew it was too good to be true :)

Oh well, a girl can dream, cant she? LOL

Jinni 10-18-2004 06:18 PM

:bowdown1: You all were right, I was wrong :) :bowdown1:

shi0t, i've got NOS stickers and TYPE R stickers for that. That had to have added about 2945 HP by now ... I am really wantin a HUGE "2 FAST 2 FURIOUS" sticker to go on my back glass, I have heard those actually make you go faster than a lamborghini....

my friend who drives the ford focus said it worked on his.

THT 10-18-2004 06:42 PM

If it worked on a Focus, it's gotta work on a Maxima! lol
