I've got the CAI & a strut bar on my to-do list for my Maxima and I noticed people saying you gotta drill a 3.5" hole for the CAI. Since I haven't ordered it yet I don't know where it's suppose to be done, so can someone elaborate on this a little more please? I'm assuming the intake just ducks down near the battery, then .... I dunno =) Where's it end up after shooting down into the engine at the factory intake box?

Yes you have to drill a hole...it will be to the right of your battery into the inner fender wall...the pipe will run into there and a K&N filter will be attached at the end of it....basically all the air is coming from inside the wheel well were the air temp is much cooler than in the engine bay....

i noticed you mention the air box...when i CAI is installed the airbox is removed....i know someone around here has some pics of the 4th gen setup for you...
