I've had my Max for 2 years and I have never filled up my Clutch fluid. You have a leak somewhere. |

I've always checked it but the level has never moved. Always full.
Yea you definitely got a leak somewhere
Clutch fluid is just hydraulic fluid just like brake fluid, you should never have to refill a hydraulic system unless there is a problem with it. That's the basis on which a hydraulic system works (closed system).
only when it leaked
never...always full
he didnt say his was low.
hmm i always wondered wat that bottle was

You most likely have a leak in the soft line right by the slave (clutch release) cylinder. I just recently had this problem.
http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/802 I just replaced it with a Stainless steel line since the dealership wanted $40 for just 1/2 the line while the GD on the org was $25 for a SS line that now replaces the whole line. There was originally a problem with them being too short on some cars but that is now addressed I think. Look at the thread about any issues or just get raped by a nissan dealership. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=338081 |
well if you get regular check ups and your oil changed they top everything off for you anyways so you wouldnt notice..so ya you prob have a leek...
sweet thanx guys. ill look into finding out if i am leaking.
never.......
I have never had to mess with my fluid in almost two years now.
5 years and never filled it up
Haven't yet in the 3 months I've had the car...
your master cylinder or slave cylinder is leaking.

damn it man. i cant trust anyone these days. i already got it replaced like twice in the past year and im still getting problems with the slave. geez. this really sucks. |
Man.
Hate to hear that. It just goes for that old saying, "if you want something done right, do it yourself." Unfortunately, this is true too often. Even though it would be easier to just take it to someone sometimes, you get a better quality job if you do it yourself....if possible. Good luck. |
never had to fill it up. but i did have to fill up the brake resirvior but that was because i had a leak.
