I've had my Max for 2 years and I have never filled up my Clutch fluid. You have a leak somewhere.

oh wow, thanx man. i guess i do have a leak, because i fill it up about twice a year.

Igobuk 10-24-2004 09:22 PM

I've always checked it but the level has never moved. Always full.

Ammi 10-24-2004 09:31 PM

Yea you definitely got a leak somewhere

Nealoc187 10-24-2004 09:57 PM

Clutch fluid is just hydraulic fluid just like brake fluid, you should never have to refill a hydraulic system unless there is a problem with it. That's the basis on which a hydraulic system works (closed system).

Nismo 10-24-2004 10:45 PM

only when it leaked

Supermax95 10-24-2004 10:50 PM

never...always full

nismo2020 10-24-2004 10:51 PM

liqidvenom 10-25-2004 12:08 AM

hmm i always wondered wat that bottle was

You most likely have a leak in the soft line right by the slave (clutch release) cylinder. I just recently had this problem.

http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/802

I just replaced it with a Stainless steel line since the dealership wanted $40 for just 1/2 the line while the GD on the org was $25 for a SS line that now replaces the whole line. There was originally a problem with them being too short on some cars but that is now addressed I think. Look at the thread about any issues or just get raped by a nissan dealership.

Brudaddy 10-26-2004 01:54 PM

Man.
Hate to hear that.
It just goes for that old saying, "if you want something done right, do it yourself." Unfortunately, this is true too often.
Even though it would be easier to just take it to someone sometimes, you get a better quality job if you do it yourself....if possible.

Good luck.

vsamoylov 10-26-2004 03:38 PM

never had to fill it up. but i did have to fill up the brake resirvior but that was because i had a leak.
