So, how's your Max doin'?

like the title says, how's it doing? still runnning strong? I'm at 95k miles and still feelin' good about the max.

Would it be a wise decision for me to trade my '99 SE for a '97 SE with around 50k miles?

Are you having problems with it or something that you want to get rid of it? you looking at the 97 for color, tranny, options etc or just the lower miles? unless theres some reason you want to get rid of the 99 keep it and enjoy it for many years and miles.

Strong but needs help.

She's tough like me but needs help.

111,xxx miles, running strong but:

Tranny feels odd (4th gear feels weak)
Driver side Axle needs replacing (rip in boot)
Need new hood and grill (see my cardomain site for pics on that)
need to fix crack in my windshield
Tires starting to get bald (stock rubbers)

but I love her and working hard towards getting it all fixed, plus a drop and cat back. But have to save up and get everything fixed before I start back modding.

Blue LEDs for the Guages are in the mail, give it about 4 days and I should be able to get pics up of the 6-led.

over 112,600 miles, runs much better since it's out of my older, negligent brother's hands .. however he's threatening to take it back and I'm not giving it to him

here's why ---> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=348175

doing fine, 128,000 but has few issues:

driver's side power window getting stuck and noisy
shocks (originals) are starting to go
rear right brake makes noise at low speeds (rust around the edges, I believe)
gonna need new tires soon
check engine light is on
Needs new paint, but rather make it functional and upgrade sound system first...theft deterrent

235.000+ miles on it still runnin strong, original auto tranny shifts perfectly, original muffler and all the pipe work... i think my cat is burned through cause it smells funny, had this beast since 40K on it... most of the miles u see here are highways miles and some street... it has no oil leaks and no bad gaskets...
current probs are leather cause of age... bose actin up as allways lol... chain drive has a rateling issues on cold starts then stops and i need new suspension bushing... i allways used 93 or higher "94 @ SUNCO" allways put in Mobil 1 Fully Synth. considering the milege tha car doesnt eat oil @ all... after a 5-6K oil change i get back about 3.5-4 Quarts of oil... lol sorry for typing soo much...

79350 miles and running strong.. has only a couple of minor issues such as improperly seated rear springs, and ignition coils that are trying to fail on me... I'm hoping to get an 01 5spd maxima with 39000 miles ASAP though... found a good deal on it, and it's a gorgeous car but if I don't get it, I'll be perfectly content with my 99

i dunno i would say run a visual check on the car like bushings, bolt joints CV boots, power streering hose that goes to the cooler cause mine started to leak but that was a easy fix... umm wat else... clean ur throtle body that gets dirty over time and flush fluids... that all for now... i know theres more... but like u im sleepy too
i hope this helps

I am at 90k, with new coils, plugs and wash... so life is good again. I have to keep her until next December when I seriously consider trading for new Pathfinder.

Just went over 95k lst week. Few baby problems, I need a piece of the super black dash kit that goes over the auto shifter, got a nice crack, looking for rims, my stock little wing on the back is undone on the right side a bit, wierd one: my hood shakes at high speeds and wind (any ideas) Still fighting salt water from living by the ocean but winning that one. Need a little seat work due to rip but shes kicking just fine, still able to destroy little civics and tiny mustangs and its getting to be more fun whipping up on little brother altima PS : Anybody noticing that Nissan is advertising the Altima much more than the Max these days ? Odd.

I have a 1997 GLE that I bought with 29K on it. I now just past the 95K mile mark and all I can say is that this car gets better with age. She drives as good and as fast as the day I brought her. All I have had to fix is a knock sensor, alternator (under a recall) and a siezed rear caliper. This is by far the most reliable car I have ever owned. The paint is still in prestine shape. The interior is flawless! I still get excellent gas mileage (average 24 mpg). I still love driving her! I plan to keep her as long as I can and will probably buy another one when she gives up on me.

I have 400,000kms on my '95 which is approx 248,000 miles...I'll post a list of what's been changed. Most expensize was getting the 5spd tranny rebuilt due to that bearing issue, but still have the original clutch!

156k on mine. Still runs great. Sometimes even better than when i got it. My car only acts up when she wants to. She'll squeal sometimes (belt) and the tranny is starting to hesitate to shift a little. It might be all the hard driving. But I take good care of her.
