MAP/BARO SW Solenoid/Valve

missing connection
Found my problem -- it wasn't swapped lines, it was a disconnected vaccuum line which couldn't be seen. I could hear it, but it was hidden under a larger tube. I reconnected the disconnected tube, reset the CEL, and no problems since.

i just recently got rid of this code as well. i had the vacuum lines wrong. it could have happened when u did your 00vi swap and maybe you did the vacuum lines wrong. (mine happened when i did my dek swap)

check in the fsm, its hard to see some vacuum lines clearly, but for the most part you can trace lines. i actually believe that after the solenoid where it goes to a hard line, i have it capped off. and my code went away. so it goes map sensor>hose to solenoid>hose to hard line=capped off.

ok, i lied. it is NOT capped off, its just left open. So its like a breather now. I know this isnt the correct way its suppose to be ran, but before, i had it capped off and it threw a code so i uncapped it and left it open. I believe (its hard to see on the diagram) it goes to the EVAP thing on the intake manifold, but the port on that broke so i taped it shut and thats why its not connected to anything.

Hmm...I believe mine has a hose running to that hard line. The hard line runs to an area under the TB. I didn't take my TB off but I felt around and I had three hoses running to that end (3 seperate hard lines). I'll try taking the hose off. I think the hard line closest to the driver side fender is the one that goes to the MAP/BARO SSV right?

I also been getting P1101-Mat Baro switch solenoid valve malfunction code. The guy at autozone said to check out all of the vacuum lines. Note: there was no vacuum going to the absolute pressure sensor so i immediately suspected that there must be a problem with one of the vacuum lines and not the sensor. So, i turned my engine on and began listening to hissing noises in my engine. It tuned out to be a disconnected control vacuum hose...saved a needles trip to a nissan dealership. Link provided gives you a good schematic of the vacuum pumping which helped me a lot.

I just replaced my hoses including the three that go to my Baro/MAP sensor...However i had to come back to it after 2 days because it was late at night and ended working overtime at my job. Now I can't quite remember which lines go to which port on the Baro/MAP and also have replaced the old hoses with smaller ones not realizing there were same size hoses available. Now, I too have the same code but not sure if lines are connected wrong or if hoses are too small or both... Pics of Baro/MAP connected on a working 4th gen. please! Anyone?

+1 ... my vaccuum hose was severd i believe when a trans shop before i ownd the car did the clutch. now i got the dreaded code myself. guna try n decypher the code of the diagram.

You can get a can of carb/throttle cleaner, start the car and start spraying (not heavily or wildly) at all your vacuum lines. Once you hear the idle of your car speed up, you've found your vacuum leak. Good luck
