Hey, how do i remove the roof lining in the maxima? I got this dent on the top of my roof, while my car was parked in my driveway from freakin 15-17 year olds having a freakin homerun derby on a little league tee-ball/girl's softball field. Im soo freakin ****ed & annoyed, the kid that hit the ball took off & ran when i started to walk towards the field. I prefer not to have a bodyshop do this if i can easily remove the roof lining without hassles. And I'm in the process of tracking this kid down & billing his parents. Thanks for any info.

The awful truth is that removing the headliner is a big hassle, and reinstalling it without any wrinkles is an even bigger hassle. If the roof dent is broad and shallow, try to pull it up and out with a suction cup dent remover such as Harbor Freight #40993, $4 + S/H.

Does harbor also sell any other dink removing tools. I think it would be a useful hobby skill to pickup.

I don't recall any. Go to their Web site and browse. They will send you a printed catalog at no charge.

Hey Daniel B. Martin

Thanks for the info. I'll check up on it. I went to a bodyshop near me and they estimated me a total of 531.65 to get the dent out they sed that since they couldn't just drill a hole and get it out (i really dont' like that idea of drilling a hole any bit) they said it would cost more to have to remove the headliner to get the dent out and reinstall it. Thanks for the info.

what do you mean by broad? the dent is kinda shallow, and takes on more of a circular shape baseball shape.

Look in the Yellow Pages for Paintless Dent Removal. Let those fellows look at your roof dent. They may know from experience if the headliner is sufficiently stretchy to allow them to press the dent out without removing the headliner.
