I'm getting buzz/hiss noise when A/C is OFF!
 

I get a moderate buzz/hissing noise from the front passenger side. It seems to get louder with increased RPMs and is prominent at idle as well. The noise disappears completely when I turn my A/C on. And I mean it goes away completely, even with me standing in front of my engine bay with the hood up. The noise is constant and never stops. This just happened recently after 3 days of heavy rain. Any ideas guys?

Sounds kinda like the clutch or bearings in your compressor are going out.

My car is making the exact same noise from the same area and it increases and decreases with acceleration. I went to Autozone and they said it may be the bearings in my power steering pump or something. When I checked the belts they seem to be wet and after driving for a few minutes I can smell something burning. I have an appointment at the dealership on Tuesday to figure out what is wrong and to get it fixed. Thank God I bought that extended warranty! It should only cost $25.

could be in the P\S but if it goes away when you engage the AC clutch my bet is that its in there somewhere
