I just bought a set of Raybesto ceramic brake pads for the fronts (dont know if they are really worth the price) and I used the brake shim's that came with the pads. And in doing so, now the brakes make way too much noise. You know the noise that brakes tend to make when they're usually worn out. I'm positive that I put them in correctly, when I put the anti-noise stuff, the blue stuff, the noise is less often heard, but when stopping from high speeds, the noise is unbearable. Unfortunetly, I throw out the stock brake shims, should have just kept them. But my question really is, is there any place where I could get the factory brake shim's? Went to Kragens and AutoZone, but they do not carry them. Would the Nissan dealer's have them? If so, about how much would they cost?

To what areas did you put that blue stuff?
I usually put a thin coat between all the layers and even on the surface that touchs the piston... By far the factory shims are the best out there. Try using the old shims from your factory pads, or just buy new shims from Nissan. Unfortunately, they may or may not fit due to weird things that aftermarket manufacturers do adding tabs to the metal part of the pad. The Nissan shims beat any goo hands or aftermarket shims hands down. Normally the aftermarket shims are generic shims and don't have the coverage of the factory shims, thus the noise. Don't use the Nissan shims and the goo, just the Nissan shims.

Thanks for the info. I will go get the shims ASAP, cant stand the noise coming from the brakes! =P

about brake shims, bill99gxe?
Hey bill99gxe, I ordered the shims from the website that you posted and used the kit number that you wrote, but its been almost 2 weeks, like about 10 days now and I still have not received my order! What gives? Is it usual for them to take this long?! What are the experiences that you have had? Thanks.
