Armelius's POMOFOCO Sound Deadening
Went to Homie Depo and picked up some Shelving Liner, it's white, thick, and low priced for 4'x 16"= 9 bux.
Two doors took 18 dollars worth and only about an hour and a half time. Spent too much time trying to hook up the door light, second door I didn't take it off just proped it up. Line up the liner to the top of door and then size. Leave the plastic sheet on the door. Take some duct tape and tape liner to the inner door (after the panels are off). Cut for electrical wiring just wide enough to slip the connector through then tape closed. Also, cut for the metal bar that looks like the handle. Just a slit like for the connectors and then tape together. One sheet will get most of the door then cut about a little over 2" to cover the bottom and tape together. Then tape the bottom. Place door panel back on and you will be able to tell the difference not just from the wind noise but also from tire noise. Might be about 20 db improvement. |
Sweet Idea, I been plannig on dynamatting my car, but its darn overpriced. How is it for killing vibrations from the stereo?

It's reduced as far as big bass. Overall there is better sound coming from the front speakers. Probably going to do under the carpet next. I hear some of the noise from the rear doors but now it isn't like you are sitting outside. In my Pathfinder it's really bad. I am hearing the wind noise from where the door meets the fender. It's not real bad but it is a problem area.
