Just got 2004 Maxi 18's on my 4th gen

Hey guys,

Just wanted you all to see my new rims from a 2004 Maxima. These here are a few pics, but PAGE 2 of my cardomain has a crap load more (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/700980/1). Check it out.

Before you all start commenting, I know it looks like a truck, it needs to be dropped. My dad said I should get Ford's "FX4" sticker and stick it on the back, I told him to go drive his TL off a cliff...

Alright, here you go:

are those wheels really that much heavier? i was thinkin about doin the same swtich. im currently running 17" konig verdicts. my dad has a 6th gen (his 5th max in a row) and he doesnt like the ride on the 18s, he blew 2 tires hittin a pothole so now he wants to downgrade to 17s so he can put more rubber b/w the rims and the road. i convinced him to give me his 18s if i can find him OEM 17s, but if my accel is gonna take a big hit then ill go with new 18s to save the weight. any thoughts?

Irish Feb 9, 2005 11:57 AM

congrats..not my style but the look good on yours.

Batxel Feb 9, 2005 12:10 PM

I think those rims are ugly and aren't worth the upgrade IMO

What wheels are those? Looks real good on your ride.

Stuntin' 101 Feb 9, 2005 02:15 PM

ive had these on my car for over a week now.. after everyone said how they wouldnt fit cause my cars lowered, and a 245/45/18 is too big to fit on the lowered car.. guess what.. its fine.. and i guess the "up one" things with the tires doesnt apply to stock maxima wheels. cause according to the " calculations" , these tires, are too wide, and too tall for these rims.. and unsafe.. well amazingly, after a week im still alive.. anyway.. yes these rims are much heavier. its such a noticable difference that it convinced me to buy a set of 17's. at first i didnt like it, i guess just cause i wasnt use to seeing them on my car, but i do really like em now.. the 45 series tire on the 18 fills up almost the entire wheel gap, and it rides much smoother than the 40 series.. oh.. and to all those who say the 45 series make the rim look smaller. your dumb.. haha

DAVE Sz Feb 9, 2005 02:18 PM

Who said they wouldn't fit? People have bigger wheels than that on the max and they fit.

BigLou93SE Feb 9, 2005 02:20 PM

Better than honeycombs, but just not my style I guess. They kind of look like dubs/20's. I don't know...I didn't realized those wheels were 9" wide...

hacim105 Feb 9, 2005 02:34 PM

Looks good but looks very odd without the car lowered. As a matter of fact I've decided that maximas with bigger wheels that aren't lowered look taller than ones with stock wheels not lowered.

As for weight so what if you're a little slower. It only really matters if you're racing. And if you're going to go to the track put on your stock wheels in place of the 18's

And if I remember correctly they are 18x8 not 18x9. But I could very well be wrong.

liqidvenom Feb 9, 2005 04:12 PM

i thought 6th gen 18's were 18x7.5

OneToughMax Feb 9, 2005 04:22 PM

nice murano :goofy:

just kidding. looks good. def. need to drop it now. a guy i work with has an 01 max se, maybe i should jack his rimmies :grinno:

I looked on his cardomain and that is what he wrote. It sounded weird to me but since I don't know much about the 6th gen., I just took it and ran...

.

Finally, yes, I know the car def. needs to be lowered. I guess, consensus says Tein lowering springs are a good choice. You all agree? Also, correction, the wheel is 18x7.5. I dont know why i said "x9".

Otherwise, I kind like the new look, but then again, Honeycombs will make spinner hubs attractive.

tranz Feb 9, 2005 05:16 PM

i actually like how they look the wheel gap is alright but whats bad is how High the car has gotten, otherwise, excellent wheels

p.s. (oh yay 300 posts)

gtr_rider Feb 9, 2005 07:50 PM

Anymore and you all will have vacation for a week

Irish Feb 9, 2005 07:53 PM

are you sure your really 19 dude? its the internet...calm down sparky....the .org is not a place to find role models, if you must strive to look for a role model on an internet forum board, you have serious problems. im not joining in this arguement, but i have the feeling you will attempt to "bash" me.

MidwestMaX1 Feb 9, 2005 10:07 PM

I like your car, but I think you should slap a 97 front end on there.

i know, i know, its just that we all know him and his car and fully aware of his position on the org, one would think he could hold some class to himself.

thanks gtr.

and again, i know that the car needs to be lowered, read the VERY VERY first post on the thread.

thanks, and i have been seriously contemplating that recently.

Broaner Feb 10, 2005 10:38 AM

I always got the impression that I held myself in the normal class. Apparently I'm in the rice class too. Alright, I'm not in this thread any more.
