Front bumper lights don't fit as well in '97/'99 as in '95/'96 bumpers??
 

I was transfering my diamond clear bumper lights this weekend and I noticed they don't fit as nicely in my '99 as my '96.

In my '96, the lights are uniformally recessed a nice ~1/8 inch all around.

On the '99, the outer lights (nearest the tire) start at the same 1/8 inch but as they wrap around, the part nearest the grill is sunken in about 1/2 inch.

Am I the only one who noticed this?

i never noticed a difference, they both fit like arse. the OEM ones have always fit like they were from the factory :grinno:

Maybe one of the cars had an aftermarket OEM type bumper? The fitment on those is pretty sucky

Perhaps but I doubt it. Also, I checked my friend's '99 and his looks like my '99 - sunken in more on the front plane than on the side plane.

What do yours look like? Uniform 1/8" all around or un-uniform?

i have a 96 maxima and awhile ago i did a 99 front end conversion
i bought a 99 oem front bumper
99 fog lights and brackets
99 headlights
99 corner lights
and a 99 chrome grill

everything fit perfect got it painted and everything
all i had to do was take a knife an trim back the bumper to make the clear bumper lenes to fit

i meant that all the clear bumper lights i have seen/installed fit very poor. Then i made a joke about the OEM ones meaning they fit awsome.

O.k., I spent the last month looking at every 4th gen I could in parking lots, etc. I am convinced that I am right. No one else notices this? Am I the only one who notices this... or am I the only one that cares? The lights fit much better in the '95/'96s with a uniform recessed 1/8". The '97/'99s are much more sunken in on the front plane of the bumper. :(
