The reason I don't like clear corners, unless...?

Guys, many of cannot simply comprehend how stock amber corners appeal to me more.

Well, I'll tell you. The reason why I don't like clears is because IMO both the DC ones and the regular e-bay ones don't look good. Back some time ago I used to see a few Maximas with these "real" clears in corners. It's hard to explain, but they were NOT sort of cloudy, like the ones now. The clear part was truly clear. These were OK looking and I would consider putting them on. Anybody know what I'm talking about? I cannot find them anywhere. :wtc:

96white Feb 23, 2005 08:46 AM

customaxima.com

all4isu Feb 23, 2005 08:46 AM

no because the clears they have now look better, imo. if i do find some ill let ya know.

2 Da Max Feb 23, 2005 08:48 AM

wow i didnt think it mattered that much? i bought whatever

Lumberg™ Feb 23, 2005 08:56 AM

yeah they all pretty much the same to me....orange looks ghetto like a ford or something... :tardsmash

Ninos_Maxima Feb 23, 2005 09:03 AM

Yeah ive seen a few maximas with the laser cut lens bumpers, They look nice

gto400no1 Feb 23, 2005 09:06 AM

i got my clear corners from custommaxima and i am very happy with them. they are not cloudy at all.

A Flood99 Feb 23, 2005 09:16 AM

mine are not cloudy either, believe i bought them from customaxima.com a year or so ago when i first bought the car and didn't know any better; but they look good

Armani Feb 23, 2005 09:33 AM

yes they are cloudy guys. Look at the smaller part of the clear corner and it's cloudy. Post pics so that I can show you what I mean. The "real" clears were honestly, truly clear all throughout.

See, I knew it was going to be hard to explain. I remember one guy did a thread on this, but that was long, long ago. He pointed out the exact difference between regular clear corners which 99% of you have. Then he showed his and looked 100 times better. No, they weren't custom made. They used to be sold long ago. I'm not making this up. Big difference in the way they looked.

LowProfile Feb 23, 2005 09:42 AM

yes! i know what you mean, but i'm the exact opposite. I like the fuzzy clear corners more than the diamont cut ones. and also I hate amber's especially in the front. :rotz:

Armani Feb 23, 2005 10:15 AM

I'm not talking about the diamond cut ones. Didn't I specify this in the first post?! Yes, I did!!! :slap:

knight71 Feb 23, 2005 10:15 AM

I think you're referring the ones from APC #402023B

Maxima 504 Feb 23, 2005 11:20 AM

the 1st time i ordered from custommaxima.com they sent me the UGLY a$$ Cloudy clears, but after those got stolen. Thank God.. I ordered another set from custommaxima.com and they sent the DC clear one's.. I like these way better.. But anything's better then stock..

Armani Feb 23, 2005 11:22 AM

do you have pics of how it looks? ...because the site does not

Fireman Ron Feb 23, 2005 11:24 AM

Yep, just get what you like. I got the one's from ebay and I'm very pleased with the way they look. I put blues in them and they look great.

Irish Feb 23, 2005 11:28 AM

that's too bad, because they were made at one point. :slap:

Why can't you people understand that I am not making this sh!t up? Many of you are too "new" to the org to know anything about this. I'm new too, but I know that I read a thread about this a long time ago. A guy had them on his black Max and I believe his name might have been nick, but I'm not 100% sure. The clears I'm referring to actually look like clears, not the crap-looking cloudy ones most of you have.

Irish Feb 23, 2005 11:48 AM

hey man look, i wasnt trying to be a smarta$$, i was helping since you cant search, i was trying to find the thread that you were talking about.....but oh well, good luck trying to find them, i hope you can

DAVE Sz Feb 23, 2005 11:50 AM

I had my dimond cut clears(tinted) for over a year, maybe 2 years. I got in an accident, car got totalled, clears were fine. Few weeks later gave to a friend and the next day he got in an accident and the clears were destroyed. Now he has DCs again and I have stock corners painted black on the inside and soon to be tinted,

erty67 Feb 23, 2005 11:54 AM

still sounds like the diamond cut to me  I'll have to take a closer look at mine when I get home.

Conrad283 Feb 23, 2005 12:37 PM

There are two kinds of clears. One is foggy clear and the other is dc clear. The DC clears look better obviously. But I've been thinking about going back to orange as well.

|Bijan| Feb 23, 2005 12:44 PM

1st gen clears = stock but clear
2nd gen clears = 'dimond cut' clear

SlackR237 Feb 23, 2005 02:09 PM

Armani I know what you're talking about, the clear corners that you can actually see clearly the "dip" where the bulb lies, instead of the cloudy cover, almost like a 97-99 headlight only squished a little. It's almost like a clear window into the entire clear corner, instead of bulges or ridges that skew the interior look of the clear corner.

It was on a thread I think a couple months ago, I searched far and wide to try and get the TRUE clear corners, because they looked really hot, but I eventually gave up and got ones that were as clear as I could find off of eBay.

tranz Feb 23, 2005 02:47 PM

I also know what your talking about they made this type of "clear" corners on APC but stopped producing them cause they got all foggy inside and were made poorly, cmon guys i know someone has a pic, they look really nice, you know what these are people!!!

Big_Ham Feb 23, 2005 02:56 PM

Ambers rule ... when you tint them.

Armani Feb 23, 2005 03:02 PM

haha, thanks to 2 of the guys above!

Everyone on here thinks they know it all, but they don't. :slap: I bet 90% of you people have never seen the clears I'm talking about. Yet, nearly all of you were ready to flame me and thinking "wtf is this guy talking about". That's what:

Someone finally helped me find the APC "REAL" clears. If you bozos who doubted me still can't tell the difference, maybe it's time to actually have a look at your cloudy clears. So, unless you have DC clears (which are not truly clear themselves), then you have cloudy clears, END OF STORY!

#1 you're a cocky d!ck newb.

#2 the side bumper lights look like @ss on that set ... (no offense to whoever's car that is)

Armani Feb 23, 2005 03:19 PM

yeah, that's a very positive response dipsh!t. :deezo:

They look best on a black maxima because I've seen them on one. Also, he put in an orange bulb which makes it look worse. I'd put in a silver coated one which still lights up as orange.

THese are by far the best clear corner lights available. They are completely clear and even have horizontal lines like our headlights have in them. These are what I have.

happyricefob Feb 23, 2005 03:27 PM

smoked corners is the best

1FSTMAX Feb 23, 2005 03:28 PM

DRIFFT MAX Feb 23, 2005 05:10 PM

wow someone find this guy a cookie. lol

A Flood99 Feb 23, 2005 05:13 PM

i have to say i really don't care for you armani, and this isn't based solely on this thread

try listening to others' opinions and experience instead of being an arrogant arse.

RA030726 Feb 23, 2005 05:19 PM

stock, stock, stock.....stock, stock, stock.....rock the ambers! rock the ambers!

dawalkster Feb 23, 2005 05:27 PM

holy crap guys its corner lenses for Gods sake. jeez. and the thing is outside of the .org no one knows the difference! i swear, people really cant tell most of the time that you have anything done to your car when you have clears instead of the stock amber and if they cant tell that then they're sure as hell not gonna tell if there the dc lenses instead of the apc ones.

armani if you like the stock better then gen 1 or 2 clears then just keep it stock and be the same as 95% of all the maximas out there. your not going to be able to get your apc clears anyways because they have been discontinued.

as far as im concerend, we have seen apc clears now, we recognize that there is a 3rd version of clear lenses for our car and we also know now that that type cant be purchased anymore. so why should we continue wasting bandwith by arguing over corner lenses?
