Bose or Headunit?

HEllo,

My BOSE has been acting up on my 95 Nissan Maxima with 84,000 miles on it. It skips for no reason and sometimes reads err when chanign tracks (the CDS are not scratched) and occasionallly why trying to skip tracks it takes for ever. -- Anyone else expereince these problems?

-- Are Maxima Dealerships able to fix the BOSE systems are what kind of place would I bring that too... Like Custom Sounds?

Also what do you guys like more... keeping it factory with the Bose or going with a new HU from someplace else...

If you go with a new HU how does it look since the BOSE is larger than most standard HU or do you guys put something else in place as well- -- ANY PICS??

forget the bose, buy a new headunit and be done with it. youll have better sound quality, better looks, and a better performing player. some say that you need to buy an adapter harness or something along those lines in order for a new headunit to work but i bought and had mine installed at a good local shop and they didnt have to do anything of the sort and now my car bumps more then ever. people never believe i have factory speakers haha. as far as pics of my setup see below. its actually kind of nice because if you go with a single din h/u then you get a nice storage slot underneath for anything.

basically bose sucks... i have gotten rid of it the second week of owning the car... as for the harness YOU NEED ONE!! if u run the new headunit with the stock speakers you WILL destroy the amplifier in the headunit!!!!! i dont care how the normal harness was bybassed to turn of the amps, u still arent inpedence matching the headunit to the speakers.. the headunit it is 4 ohm the speakers/amps are a 1 ohm load... get the harness dont burn out your amplifier/ headunit....or just replace the speakers u dont need a rewire..
